Waking up multiple times a night to p*e is not just a bladder issue.

In midlife, it is often connected to blood sugar, stress hormones, and shifting hormones.

Your body is communicating with you.

If this sounds familiar, it may be worth looking at what your body is asking for, rather than thinking it’s “just part of aging.”

Curious about what labs can guide you? DM me LABS to discuss further.

❎Myth #1: Probiotics alone fix everything.
Probiotics can be supportive, but they are not a magic fix. Without addressing digestion, stomach acid, bile flow, and immune balance, probiotics do very little - and can even worsen symptoms. Probiotics are helpful, but not foundational.

❎Myth #2: Gut health only matters for digestion.
Gut function affects far more than bloating or bowel habits.
It impacts:
•Hormone balance
•Bood sugar regulation
•Inflammation
•Immune function
•Mood and stress resilience

Many women in perimenopause and post menopause are surprised to learn that fatigue, weight changes, skin issues, or anxiety may be linked to gut health.

❎Myth #3: Improving gut health is complicated.
Supporting gut health doesn’t require doing everything at once. The focus should be on the right steps in the right order.

• Supporting digestion first
• Reducing irritation and inflammation
• Rebuilding microbial balance gradually

When the body feels supported, it responds.

Symptoms are signals, not problems to silence.
The goal is to support the systems that allow the gut to function optimally, rather than trying to “quick-fix” it overnight.

Strategic, stepwise changes can create meaningful results - especially during menopause.

Insulin resistance is never just about blood sugar.

It’s about metabolic imbalances that affect hormones, digestion, inflammation, the liver, the brain, and long-term health.

Optimal reference ranges give us a fuller picture, long before a diagnosis like pre-diabetes or Type 2 diabetes shows up.

Additionally, IR is linked to an increase risk of other chronic diseases like heart disease, Alzheimer’s and Non-Alcohol Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD).

Traditional labs usually pick up problems once they’re already advanced. Functional ranges help you spot patterns early, when they’re the easiest to correct.

At the end of the day, it’s about being an informed participant in your health journey and finding the support you need to make sense out of it all. 💛

If you’re curious what is the best approach for you, comment or DM me IR to start a conversation.

Most women don’t need to quit coffee, they just need to stop drinking it on an empty stomach.

Sometimes the simplest habits, the ones that seem completely harmless, can actually be the reason you are dealing with mood swings, energy crashes, or that “wired but tired” feeling in the evening.
And yes, that innocent cup coffee first thing in the morning might be playing a role.

For some people, having coffee before food can spike the stress hormone cortisol and blood sugar and throw off your natural rhythm for the rest of the day.
Not always, but enough that it is worth paying attention to.

And honestly -
When I work with clients and compare their lifestyle habits with their DUTCH results, we often see this show up as a contributing factor, especially in those dealing with morning stress spikes, low resilience, or inconsistent energy.

The DUTCH test doesn’t diagnose anything.
But it does offer a deeper look at cortisol and hormone patterns, giving you insight to understand what might be contributing to your symptoms.

You can try this:
💦Hydrate with a glass of filtered water first thing (after brushing your teeth of course!)
🍲 Eat breakfast - protein, healthy fat, fiber-filled carb (such as berries)
THEN
☕️Enjoy your coffee 30-60 minutes later

Try it out for a couple of weeks, and see if you notice more stable energy and fewer afternoon crashes. Even your mood may shift (for the better).

On the Dutch test, cortisol clearance tells us how quickly your body is breaking down and eliminating cortisol.

Your body is always making cortisol, using it, and clearing it.

When cortisol clearance is low, your body is not clearing cortisol efficiently.

How this may show up:
• Free cortisol may look high, normal, or even low
• Metabolized cortisol is low because you’re not clearing/breaking it down well
• Cortisol clearance looks at the relationship between these two.

Why Low Clearance Matters ->
Low cortisol clearance puts your body into a “slow breakdown” mode, which can lead to:

➡️ Higher circulating cortisol
Because you are not clearing it, cortisol can hang around longer ->
• feeling wired, edgy, anxious
• “tired but wired” at night

➡️ Weight changes
Higher active cortisol for longer periods can affect ->
• belly fat storage
• water retention
• blood sugar stability

➡️ Low energy
Ironically, even if cortisol is high, low clearance can still create ->
• fatigue
• morning sluggishness
• afternoon crashes
(Because the body isn’t metabolizing it properly)

➡️ Inflammation + slow recovery
The body may be stuck in a stress state longer, slowing ->
• repair
• detox
• immune resilience

If you are feeling any of these symptoms ->
• wired but tired
• difficulty relaxing
• belly weight gain
• higher stress reactivity
• brain fog
• trouble sleeping (especially staying asleep)
• slow recovery

You may have a slow cortisol clearance rate.

It’s simply a pattern showing us that your thyroid, liver, inflammation, and stress load need more support, so your body can process cortisol the way it’s meant to.

If you are tired of guessing why you feel the way you do… let’s dig into it!

“No one has the manual to your life but you.”

And that is the truth so many women forget.
Finding what works for you is the key to feeling whole.

I can give my clients insights, knowledge, tools, and tips…
but the real transformation happens when they are willing to do things differently -
to honor their own body, their own rhythms, their own needs.

Your body, your responsibilities, your stressors, your relationships, your history-
they’re unique to you.
There is no one-size-fits-all to healing.
There never was.

That’s why generic programs fall short.
They don’t taken into account the interplay that is happening between your hormones, stress levels, nervous system, lifestyle, emotions, and life experiences.

You are the only one that can listen deeply enough to know what feels aligned.

Your job is to trust yourself.

✨Your manual is yours.
✨Your healing is yours.
✨Your path is yours.

Lately I’ve been realizing how much life is constantly teaching us - through every decision, every outcome, even the moments that don’t go as planned.

It’s easy to move on without noticing the message, but growth happens when we pause long enough to listen.

✨A quiet reminder to tune in, not rush past.

“We first make our habits, and then our habits make us.” - John Dryden

With the holidays fast approaching, it’s easy for our choices to drift out of alignment with how we want to feel.

Remember, each day is made up of choices.

The small habits you’ve built to support your well-being can be the strength that helps you navigate the season with more balance, energy, and grace.

You don’t have to be perfect… just intentional.
