🌟 Intern Spotlight: Meet Michaela!
We’re excited to introduce Michaela, one of our ADRC interns for 2026! Michaela is currently pursuing her Doctorate of Public Health at Capella University, and she’s spending her internship gaining hands-on experience helping people understand and access important benefits and services.

Michaela was first introduced to the ADRC through a previous service role where she often referred people to our organization. Through that experience, she saw firsthand how the ADRC supports individuals and families in the community.
“I already knew about the ADRC and loved everything the organization was doing,” Michaela shared. “That connection made me really excited to come here and learn more.”

During her internship, Michaela is training to become SHIP certified, which helps her build the knowledge needed to guide people through programs like Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security. She’s working alongside our benefit specialists to assist community members in understanding how these systems work and how to use them.

One of the things Michaela is most excited about is gaining real-world experience while helping people navigate important public health programs.
“This internship helps me see how everything works in practice,” she said. “It’s rewarding to learn how to walk someone through these systems so they can better understand their options.”

Michaela is also looking forward to strengthening her presentation and communication skills, especially when it comes to explaining public health topics in ways that are clear and helpful.

Outside of her internship work, Michaela has experience working with the social determinants of health, helping connect people with community resources like the ADRC.

We’re grateful to have Michaela on our team this year and look forward to the impact she’ll continue to make while supporting our community. 💙

The ADRC team had a great time at our all-agency meeting yesterday! Along with engaging presentations, we took some time to give back by decorating meal bags for our home-delivered meal participants—adding a little extra joy with birthday wishes, jokes, and cheerful drawings.

Looking for a fun and easy way for your organization to volunteer? Decorating meal bags is a simple way to brighten someone’s day, and our participants truly love it. If you’re interested in getting involved, give us a call at 920-448-4560—we’d love to connect!

Thank you to COMSA and the Advanced Care Planning Coalition for the wonderful presentations
