Potassium (The Overlooked Mineral)

When people think electrolytes, sodium gets all the attention — but potassium is just as critical and often under-consumed.

Potassium helps regulate:
• Muscle contractions
• Nerve signaling
• Hydration balance
• Blood pressure
• Heart rhythm

Highly processed diets tend to be low in potassium-rich whole foods. Here are some foods to emphasize:
• Sweet potatoes
• Avocados
• Spinach
• Beans
• Bananas
• Coconut water

Whole, colorful foods are the best way to restore this important mineral.

Tight muscles can pull joints out of alignment and limit movement, often creating a cycle of discomfort. That’s why muscle relaxation is an important part of chiropractic care.

By loosening tight muscles (often with brief massage) before adjustments, chiropractic care allows the body to respond more easily and comfortably. When muscles and joints work together, the body moves better as a whole.

Magnesium: The Multi-Tasking Mineral

Magnesium supports hundreds of processes in the body, yet many people are running low without realizing it.

This essential mineral helps with:
• Muscle relaxation
• Sleep quality
• Stress response
• Nerve function
• Blood sugar balance

Signs you may need more support can include muscle tightness, poor sleep, headaches, or feeling wired but tired. While foods like leafy greens, nuts, and seeds help, many people benefit from additional magnesium support.

Quick fixes for health issues can be helpful in the moment — but lasting health often requires a deeper look.

Functional medicine focuses on:
• identifying root contributors
• supporting the body’s natural processes
• creating sustainable lifestyle changes

The goal is long-term wellness, not just short-term relief. 🌱

Busy schedules, physical work, workouts, and everyday stress all add up in the body. Over time, muscles can become tight, sore, and less responsive.

Professional massage gently works through those areas of tension, encouraging better movement and comfort. Many clients are surprised how much lighter and looser they feel afterward.

Sometimes your body just needs skilled hands and a little focused time to unwind.

Joint Stiffness & Mobility Issues

Chiropractic care isn’t only for the spine. A lot of people seek care for stiffness or discomfort in joints like hips, knees, shoulders, or wrists.

Gentle joint adjustments and supportive muscle work can help improve mobility, reduce stiffness, and encourage smoother movement. Getting older can feel hard, and healthy joints play a big role in maintaining our independence and comfort as we age.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! ☘️

We wish you a day filled with a little extra luck, a lot of laughter, and hopefully the joy of celebrating with the people who matter most to you. We also look forward to signs of spring once the snow melts away again, brighter skies, and fresh growth for the spring season ahead.

Snowed in? We would suggest a little gentle movement to help reduce stiffness and boost energy after spending extra time cooped up inside.

Here are three easy enough exercises you can try at home:

• Neck stretches — Slowly tilt your head toward one shoulder, hold for 10–15 seconds, then switch sides. This can help relieve tension from shoveling, driving, or screen time.

• Seated spinal twists — Sit tall in a chair, gently rotate your upper body to one side, hold briefly, then switch. This encourages mobility through the mid-back.

• Marching in place — Stand and slowly march for 30–60 seconds to get circulation moving and wake up stiff hips and legs.

Small, consistent movement can make a big difference in how your body feels after being less active than usual. Stay safe, stay warm, and take care of yourself as we dig out from this (final?) winter storm. ❄️
