Friday, March 27, is the Taste of La Posada.

La Posada’s signature, free public event is 10 am - 2 pm.

For those attending the Taste of La Posada, follow the signs directing you to our guest parking areas. Complimentary shuttle service will be provided from the guest parking areas to the check-in tables at our Fitness Pavilion and Dining area. Also, transportation is offered to neighborhoods where model apartments and homes are located.

Residents and visitors are reminded to watch for increased pedestrian traffic during event hours. Also, watch for La Posada security team members directing visitors to event parking.

What makes a senior living community feel truly welcoming, not just comfortable?

At La Posada at Green Valley, the answer is simmering in our kitchens, and it tastes a lot like home.

Our Dining Services team already delivers exceptional culinary experiences, but in 2026, something even more meaningful is unfolding. Think of it as a community cookbook in motion, where every recipe becomes a shared story.

La Posada dining services has set a Wildly Important Goal: 26 resident-inspired recipes in 2026. Each dish, whether it’s a comforting side, a vibrant salad, or a memorable dessert, carries the flavor of someone’s life, traditions, and table. So far, 11 recipes have already come to life, each one connecting memories to present moments.

This idea didn’t begin with a plan. It began quietly, as a handwritten resident recipe slipped into a mailbox. Over time, more followed. Thoughtful contributions. Gentle suggestions.

Because here’s the truth: The best communities don’t just serve meals… they invite people to shape them.

To honor that spirit, every La Posada recipe remains anonymous. This idea creates space for residents to contribute freely, without pressure, knowing their ideas are transformed with care. Our culinary team thoughtfully scales these recipes from home kitchens to serve 80 to 150 residents, turning one idea into a shared experience.

And what’s inspiring our future dining menu?

✨ A smoky salmon spread that carries a hint of coastal nostalgia
✨ Marmalade French toast casserole that turns brunch into a warm ritual
✨ Greek lemon soup that brightens a cool day
✨ Seafood pasta salad layered with citrus, herbs, and richness
✨ A reimagined blueberry torte

These recipes aren’t just recipes. They’re edible heirlooms. Little time capsules that allow residents to share a piece of their story and feel seen, valued, and connected.

By the end of the year, this journey will culminate in a community cookbook that preserves these flavors and stories for years to come.

Today, March 24th, La Posada Community Services is closed due to water pipe repair.

This closure includes Adult Day Services, the Senior Lunch program, Community Center events, and classes at Los Niños Preschool and Childcare.

La Posada Community Services reopens to participants and students on Wednesday, March 25th, at their usual times.

We know you have questions about the La Posada campus and its retirement culture.

Come and ask your future neighbors about who we are and what they do every day on our campus.

The Taste of La Posada is Friday, March 27, 2026.

La Posada’s signature event is from 10 AM to 2 PM at The Pavilion on the La Posada campus.

This event is free and open to the public.

At the Taste, guests will:

- Enjoy gourmet food
- Live music
- Meet and ask questions to present La Posada, residents
- Discover what life is like on our campus through listen and learn resident panels
- Meet La Posada staff members from the activities, fitness, culinary, resident services, and healthcare departments
- Tour numerous open apartments and houses in the four distinctive neighborhoods across our beautiful campus.
- Walk and explore our campus or take advantage of complimentary shuttles from visitor parking to La Posada open houses and Pavilion dining and entertainment.

For Parking: Follow the signs along Continental Road to the guest parking area. Shuttles will take you to the registration table at the Pavilion.

☘️ Irish Wisdom of the Day:
“May your feet stay light, your friends stay near, and your heart stay young enough to try one more dance.”

Yesterday, La Posada residents dressed in their best shades of green and stepped onto the dance floor for a lively St. Patrick’s Day Line Dancing class, where a few cheerful jigs and waltzes made their way into the fun.

The Irish jig dates back to the 1500s and is known for its quick, bouncy rhythm, played on fiddles and pipes. It’s a dance meant to lift the spirit and get the feet moving.

And sure enough, a few residents tried the jig for the very first time yesterday. That’s the beauty of life at La Posada… stepping into something new, sharing a laugh with friends, and discovering a little joy along the way.

Yes, ninja training is available at La Posada.

One of the reasons residents enjoy Balance 3 at La Posada is simple. It helps with the little movements that make everyday life easier.

- Getting up from a chair
- Walking the dog around campus
- Climbing stairs
- Stepping out of the car for lunch with friends
- Taking photos on a beautiful desert walk

Balance 3 focuses on strengthening stability and coordination so residents feel more confident as they move through their day. Many say it helps them enjoy activities like cycling, dancing at community events, hiking rough terrain, gardening, or volunteering at their favorite cause in the Green Valley - Sahuarita community.

“What do people actually do for each other in a retirement community?”

One of the most meaningful things that happens in a community like La Posada is simple: neighbors look out for one another.

Here, you are surrounded by people who understand that life still brings decisions, challenges, and everyday questions. And often, the best support is just next door.

Residents share ideas, offer practical advice, and sometimes listen over a cup of coffee. Chances are, someone here has faced something similar and is happy to lend a hand or share what helped them.

So if you’re ever wrestling with a decision or having a tough day, it’s perfectly okay to knock on a neighbor’s door. Community isn’t just about living near each other. It’s about knowing you don’t have to figure everything out alone.

Due to the Coronavirus Pandemic, La Posada remains temporarily closed to visitors and guests! All public and on-campus events are canceled. Unless you have an appointment at Posada Life Community Services, La Posada Outpatient Therapies, the Vensel Treasure Shoppe, or independent and assisted living visitation rooms, please come back another day.

If you have family members living in a La Posada Assisted Living neighborhoods, an indoor visitation room is now available for your visit. To make an appointment to use the assisted living visitation room, please contact Sahra at 520-648-8400.

All delivery drivers visiting the La Posada campus must wear face masks. Those visiting the La Posada campus are asked to wear a face mask and social distance to protect La Posada residents, staff, and stop the spread of COVID-19.
