Akron-Summit County Maple Valley Branch Library, 4th Thursday of the month starting April 23rd.

Join us for connection, support, resources and education. Topics include but are not limited to: planning for the future, difficult emotions, setting boundaries, local resources etc.
Co-facilitated by Theresa Niewiadomski, Licensed Social Worker and Family Caregiver Support Specialist for Direction Home Aging and Disabilities and Min. Pat Reese, former caregiver, and Minister with LCI Ministries.

Access to Independence 4960 S Prospect St, Ravenna, OH 44266.
This is an ongoing family caregiver support group at this same location the third Wednesday of the month from 1-2pm. We have speakers on topics of interest but also come together as caregivers to support each other.

Recently visited the Golden Buckeye Center for Dementia Caregiving in Columbus. An amazing space including a Dementia simulation program, but that's just the surface of what all support they offer to caregivers both online and in-person. Surely more information to come as we explore what's offered.

Direction Home and our Family Caregiver Program are involved in the Wayne Senior Service Network to better connect in one of our more rural counties. These blessing bags were recently stuffed by the group and delivered to College Hills Retirement housing in Wooster, just in time for the holidays!
