Movement is not something reserved for athletes or people who “work out.”

It is a birthright.

Your body was built to bend, reach, squat, carry, twist, and walk across this planet.

The modern world has slowly taken those movements away from us. We sit more. We outsource physical effort. We live inside climate controlled spaces and forget that our bodies are designed to interact with the real world.

But it is never too late to reclaim movement.

Walk more.
Stretch in the morning.
Carry your groceries instead of rolling them.
Spend time in the garden.

Movement woven through the day will always serve you better than punishing yourself for one hour at the gym.

Here is a stretch to try today, stand sideways next to a chair and place a knee in the seat of the chair. Holding on to the back of the chair stretch your opposite arm up and over. Feel as though you are pushing your hips away from the chair.
Inhale as you open your arm out to the side, exhale as you reach the arm up and over.

A Bee Yoga Fusion community gathering centered around books. You don’t need to prepare. Just come as you are.

Bring the story you recently read. We’ll gather to share what’s been moving us, surprising us, or simply keeping us company lately. If you’re inclined, you are also welcome to bring a book to swap. A story you’ve finished and are ready to release forward. No pressure here either. Listening counts just as much as sharing.

This isn’t a book club in the traditional sense. It’s a circle of people who love books, stories, and meaningful conversation. A reminder that reading doesn’t have to be solitary, structured, or perfect. Sometimes it just needs a place to land.

When: Wednesday, March 11th at 7:30pm
(right after the Small Group Personal Training class and the Flow to Yin class)
Where: Bee Yoga Fusion coaching room, 111 Centerway, 2nd floor. Roosevelt Center, Greenbelt MD. Above the New Deal Cafe.

Free for Bee Yoga Fusion monthly members.
Non-members are welcome with a suggested donation of $5.
Donations support community programming and space-holding.

You must reserve to attend; space is limited to ten people. Check the website class schedule to reserve.

How to Master the Basics- Yoga Workshop
Sunday, March 1, 2026
12:00–2:00 PM

This workshop is a chance to slow things down and explore the poses that show up again and again in our classes. We’ll focus on alignment, awareness, and simple adjustments that help you feel more stable, confident, and supported in your body.

During this workshop, we’ll break down:
• Tree Pose
• High Lunge and Low Lunge
• Side Angle
• Flowing through Sun Salutation (Surya Namaskar A & B)
• And additional poses based on the needs and questions of those in attendance

This is not about “perfect” poses. It’s about learning how each pose can work for your body. Whether you’re brand new to yoga, returning after time away, navigating injuries, or simply wanting to deepen your practice.

Space is limited, and monthly members get a discount!

⏳ “I don’t have time.”
I hear this a lot. But here’s the truth: you can’t afford not to make time for your body as you age.
Strength training now means more energy, better sleep, fewer injuries, and less reliance on others later in life.
Your future self is begging you, please show up now.
Plus we make it fun at Bee Yoga Fusion!

One of the things I’ve been craving lately is community around reading, without the pressure that sometimes comes with traditional book clubs. No required title. No deadlines. No fear of being the one who didn’t finish.

So we’re creating a Bee Yoga Fusion community gathering centered around books. You don’t need to prepare. Just come as you are.

Bring the story you recently read. We’ll gather to share what’s been moving us, surprising us, or simply keeping us company lately. If you’re inclined, you’re also welcome to bring a book to swap. A story you’ve finished and are ready to release forward. No pressure here either. Listening counts just as much as sharing.

What’s unfolding in our country feels heavy beyond words — the violence, the loss of innocent lives, the fear showing up in places that should be safe. The murders in Minneapolis of people speaking out and protecting one another have shaken me deeply. I know many of you are feeling it too. I feel grief. I feel anger. I feel a real sense of uncertainty about how we move forward from here.

And at the same time, I’m still showing up — unlocking the studio doors, teaching classes, holding space for people who come in needing grounding and relief. That paradox is real. I feel honored to play this role, and I also feel worried, lost, and unsure. I don’t have all the answers. What I do know is that we cannot keep holding all of this inside our bodies.

We can’t pretend terrible things aren’t happening. We can’t stay silent. And we can’t keep flooding our nervous systems with image after image of violence and expect to be okay. Our bodies are absorbing it all. They’re keeping score.

Eventually, something has to move.

Movement doesn’t have to be perfect. It can be squats in your living room. Stretching when you wake up. A quiet walk where you finally take a full breath. Or, if you feel called, I would love to see you in the studio this week — moving alongside others who are carrying similar weight.

This is me saying: I’m here with you. I feel it too. I don’t know how we heal a country, but I know we can care for our nervous systems, our hearts, and our communities — together. And that matters.

Move your body this week.
Breathe.
Release what doesn’t need to be carried alone.

I’m here.
The studio is here.
The community of friendly faces at Bee Yoga Fusion are here.
And you are not alone.

When the world outside is loud with wind and shovels and swirling snow, this is your reminder to tend to you.

Snowstorms ask a lot of our bodies. Lifting, pushing, bracing against the cold, holding tension in places we don’t even notice until later. Before or after you head back outside, give yourself the care you’d offer someone you love.

Join me for a virtual Flow to Yin class
🕕 Monday at 6:00 PM

Flow to Yin is the best of both worlds. We begin with a gentle, steady flow to warm the body, ease stiffness in the shoulders, hips, and low back, and help you shake off the day. Then we slow everything down. Long, supported yin poses invite your nervous system to soften, your breath to deepen, and your body to fully recover from all the effort you’ve given.

No commute. No icy roads. Just you, your mat, and a practice designed to help you feel grounded, stretched, and restored.

If you’re shoveling snow, carrying groceries, or just feeling the weight of winter, this class is an act of prevention and compassion. Your body will thank you tomorrow.

Sign up, stay home, and let tomorrow night be about warmth, care, and coming back to yourself.

Master the Basics: A Workshop Every Yoga Student Needs -

If you’ve been practicing yoga for any length of time, it’s easy to think: I know this pose. But here’s the truth I’ve learned after years of teaching and training instructors — the deepest growth often comes from returning to the basics with fresh awareness.

The 2016 trend, Bee Yoga Fusion edition!

Ten years ago, Bee Yoga Fusion moved out of my basement and into Roosevelt Center… and honestly, I can still feel that first night in my bones.

Back then, the studio had stained pink carpet, beige walls, and two very humble rooms. One for practice. One for cubbies. I painted. I pulled up carpet. I laid foam flooring. I installed ceiling tiles. And that very first week, I taught class.

We used to face each other while we practiced. Anyone remember that? 👀

Eventually, I tore down a wall to make more space. And then, over time, Bee Yoga Fusion grew again… and again. We took over another suite. Expanded our footprint. Expanded our offerings. Expanded what was possible.

Today, we’re a yoga, Pilates, and strength training studio rooted right here in Greenbelt. Ten years in the same center. Countless classes. So many bodies moving, healing, laughing, sweating, breathing together.

I feel deeply proud of what’s been built and even more grateful for the community that made it possible. Thank you for trusting me, growing with me, and allowing Bee Yoga Fusion to be part of your life.

Here’s to humble beginnings, bold leaps, and the magic that happens when community shows up again and again. 💛

We’re excited to introduce a brand-new class at Bee Yoga Fusion: YOD | Yoga of the Day — and it’s launching this Saturday at 10:30am!

YOD is a 60-minute class designed to give you a little bit of everything your body is craving. We begin with about 20 minutes of yoga and sun salutations to warm up, stretch, and build mobility. From there, we move into strength and bodyweight HIIT (High-Intensity Interval Training), with circuits that change every single class. You might flow through chair pose pulses, push-ups to side plank, or bridge holds, then finish with a short, energizing circuit of movements like air squats, crunches, and leg lunges — all done at your own pace. We close out the class with restorative yoga poses and savasana.

No two classes are the same, bodyweight only, and modifications are always offered. Whether you’re newer to movement or looking to shake up your current routine, YOD meets you where you are and invites you to play at the edge of your comfort zone.

✨ Details:

As we get older, balance becomes one of the most important skills we can train — not just for yoga, but for everyday living.
Stepping off a curb, reaching for something high on a shelf, navigating uneven ground… balance is behind all of it.

Here’s a simple at-home exercise you can try:

🟡 Lay painter’s tape on the floor in a pie-shaped pattern.
🟡 Stand in the center on one foot.
🟡 Tap each line with your finger (or your heel!) while keeping your balance and returning to center before moving to the next point.
🟡 Switch sides and repeat.

This kind of functional movement strengthens your ankles, hips, and core, improves proprioception (your body’s sense of where it is in space), and increases confidence — which is huge as we age.

You don’t need fancy equipment. Just a little tape, a little focus, and a willingness to wobble.
Because every wobble is a win. ✨

Try it at home and tell me how it feels!
