New Diabetic medications are coming!
During the last few years new classes of diabetic medications have been developed, which lower blood sugars by allowing the kidneys to spill excess sugar in the urine when glucose levels exceed normal range. These medications allow sugar levels to remain normal in the bloodstream. This class of drugs has shown that it can cause people to lose weight and in addition, lower blood pressure, slightly reducing the risk of heart attacks.
An even newer class of these drugs not only cause the kidney to spill sugar, but also prevents the absorption of sugar from the intestines, which further improves high blood sugar.
We are currently engaged in a clinical utilizing this new medication. For information about this study, especially if your diabetes is not well controlled, please call MEC&R at 415-461-1585, and ask for Carol or Natalie
