This April, our team is proud to stand together in support of Autism Acceptance Month 💙

While we are always researching and working alongside our families and communities to advocate for our clients, our staff wore blue yesterday to help raise awareness, promote understanding, and celebrate the unique perspectives of the children and families we serve each day. At our clinics, we are committed to creating a supportive, inclusive environment where every child feels seen, valued, and empowered to grow.

Autism acceptance is about truly listening, learning together, and embracing differences—not just this month, but every day. Thank you for allowing us to be part of your child’s journey 💙

Our clinic has been *hopping* with Easter-themed activities this week! While the kids were busy playing, they were also working on so many important developmental skills. We love to put the fun in functional!

From egg hunts and bunny hops to egg decorating and sorting games, our therapists used these festive activities to target:

🥚 Fine motor skills and hand strength
🎨 Hand-eye coordination and bilateral coordination
🐰 Gross motor skills, balance, and motor planning
🧠 Problem-solving and following directions
👄 Articulation and communication skills
💛 Social interaction and turn-taking

It’s no secret that we love celebrating the different seasons with our amazing kiddos! Take a peek at some of the Easter fun happening in our sessions this week. 🌷🐣

🌟 Happy Occupational Therapy Month! 🌟

April is Occupational Therapy Month, and we’re celebrating the incredible work our Occupational Therapy team does every day to help our children grow, learn, and thrive!

From strengthening little hands for writing, dressing, and self-care skills, to helping children develop coordination, focus, and independence in daily activities — occupational therapy supports the skills kids need for everyday life.

Occupational Therapists also play an important role in sensory processing, helping children understand and respond to the sensory information their bodies receive throughout the day. Through fun and purposeful activities, OTs help kids learn to regulate their bodies, tolerate different sounds and textures, improve attention, and feel more comfortable and confident in their environments.

At Farris Therapy, our OTs turn hard work into fun through play, creativity, and meaningful activities that help children reach their full potential. Whether it’s mastering zippers, improving handwriting, building sensory regulation, or growing in confidence within their little lives, every small step forward is a big victory!

Join us in thanking our amazing OT team for the compassion, dedication, and expertise they bring to our families every single day. 💜

🌼 It’s a beautiful day to grow! 🌼

Today we’re celebrating two special things—the first day of spring (yay!) and the birthday of a very kind and inspiring friend, Mr. Rogers (extra yay!).

Mr. Rogers reminded us that every child is unique, capable, and worthy of love just the way they are—and that’s something we believe in every single day in pediatric therapy.

Spring is also a season of growth, new beginnings, and blossoming skills. So whether it’s learning new words, building strength, improving coordination, or gaining confidence in social situations, we love watching our kiddos grow in their own time and in their own wonderful way.

We’re so thankful to be part of your child’s journey!

“Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?’” — Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Today on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, we reflect on the importance of serving others with love and understanding. Supporting children and families through their therapy journeys is both our calling and our privilege. May we continue building a community rooted in inclusion, empathy, and hope. 💜
