We’re so excited to open our doors for this ✨FREE✨ experience for local kids and families, not just Farris Therapy clients! This special event is designed with calm, comfort, and joy in mind, which is perfect for our little friends who need a low-stimulation environment to enjoy holiday magic at their own pace.

Click on the link at the bottom of this post to reserve your spot! Why time slots? 🤔 In order to keep the experience peaceful and successful for each child, families will sign up for their individual time slots. This helps reduce noise, long wait times, and overwhelm — allowing kiddos to meet Santa in a relaxed, supportive space.

As we eagerly await being able to see your faces soon, we would like to give a huge thank you to Snell Prosthetics & Orthotics for generously donating THINK Coffee (one of our awesome local coffee shops!) to help keep parents and guardians warm and cozy during the event. And another big thank you to SH Cookie Co. for the sweetest cookie donations — your treats will make the day even more magical!

This update just makes us feel so warm and fuzzy 🥰 so in the spirit of the season, we want to give away an incredible gift basket with goodies from local businesses! To enter the drawing:

🧡Happy Thanksgiving from our crew to you!🤎

Our office will be closed today & tomorrow to honor this special holiday and allow our staff and clients time to celebrate this season with their loved ones.

We will resume sessions on Monday, December 1st!

We had the sweetest time at Sensory Storytime this month, and we wanted to share a little about why we include sensory strategies in our sessions.

Sensory supports help kids:
🧠 Stay engaged by giving their hands and bodies something meaningful to do
🎶 Process stories in more than one way, making learning richer and more fun
🤗 Feel calm and comfortable, especially for little ones who need extra support in new environments
💬 Build communication and social skills through playful, low-pressure interactions
💪 Strengthen fine motor, gross motor, and attention skills—all while they’re just having fun!

Sensory Storytime is all about meeting kids where they are, honoring every learning style, and creating a space where all children can explore, wiggle, listen, and shine. 📚

We love seeing our little friends light up during these moments! 💛✨

Stop at MoJo’s Hometown Pizza next Thursday (on Thanksgiving) and be blessed with a FREE to-go style meal courtesy of several of your favorite businesses in town. Dinners will be available beginning at 11 AM while supplies last.

“Leaf” it to our kiddos to make therapy this fun!

Crunching, jumping, tossing, and giggling through piles of fall leaves — our therapy sessions were full of smiles this morning!

While it looks like pure fun, this activity is actually full of developmental benefits:
💪🏻Physical Therapy: Strengthens core and leg muscles through jumping, balancing, and coordination.
✋🏼Occupational Therapy: Encourages sensory exploration with different textures, sounds, and movements.
🗣️ Speech Therapy: Builds language skills as kids describe what they see, feel, and do — from “crunchy leaves” to “big jumps!”

At Farris Therapy, we love blending fun and function — helping each child grow, play, and thrive one leaf pile at a time! 🍂💛
