Clearing Up the Confusion on HB1150
Misinformation is clouding the conversation around House Bill 1150, leaving many Arkansans unsure of what the legislation actually does. Sen. Mark Johnson is pushing back against misleading claims, emphasizing that HB1150 is designed to protect patients and locally owned pharmacies—not restrict pharmacy access. At its core, the bill prevents pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs) from owning pharmacies, closing a loophole that has allowed these powerful middlemen to manipulate drug prices and push local businesses out of the market. Despite what opponents claim, HB1150 promotes fair competition, strengthens community pharmacies, and puts patients ahead of corporate profits. It’s time to set the record straight.
