Not sure if most can access medscape (they do articles for medical professionals).

The basic point is clear :: artificial sweeteners indeed might pose health risks to your brain.

Exercise can help curb a sweet tooth, as well as just getting balanced. A reset, or i hesitantly say "cleanse", where you stick to just whole foods for 2-4 weeks could also help.

If you need extra help, just let us know.

Artificial sweeteners may not be the harmless alternatives to sugar that many assume, particularly when it comes to brain health, a landmark study suggests.

What's your inspiration/intention? This is a part of Yoga Nidra, which is a guided form of meditation that helps you settle into your body. I find it helps me sleep sometimes if I'm challenged. (I can share a link if anyone wants).

Mine these days, has been to kick ass in life, while feeling good doing so. Just setting that intention has been a great force in my life. Remembering it, not always so easy. I'll keep on practicing though!

Would love to hear of others intentions. Cheers!

I'm personally not a fan of the "more protein the better" movement that has been going on. This article helps explain why.

I do think protein is important, but you don't need tons of it unless you're doing serious weightlifting. Also, whole foods are good y'all! Chances are you're getting plenty with your diet without having to supplement.

We are happy to look at dietary intake if you have questions. With Chinese Medicine, it's about eating according to what works best for your particular body type.

It’s a common refrain on social media. We fact-checked this and five other big protein claims circulating online.

From my esteemed teacher Jeffrey Yuen, an 88th generation Daoist priest:

"Feeling symptoms in your body is a good thing. It means your body is actively trying to heal. This is much preferred to asymptomatic disease process."

What is it that your body is asking for? We can help.

Hey all! We do a ton of work with pain in the neck and shoulders. It really helps.

We also recommend exercises to folks to help them stay loose, so they can stay looser without us! Link below

Hi All! A common condition we treat in the clinic is painful neck and shoulders. We also work a lot with elbows and wrists. Acupuncture is very effective for treatment. However, results are even more profound (and longer lasting too!) if you can add exercises for self care. Enter Teacup exercises…...

Hip Pain? Back tightness? It could be posture, but it could be the way one tends to life. The back is ruled by the Kidney energy, which is our base willpower used to stride through life. The hips are Gall Bladder. This could be the decisions and actions we're taking (or not!).

I personally make the mistake at times of wonder what it is I'm needing, vs. what it is I should be doing. It affects my digestion. For real, often I start having bowel movements once I get to the task I need to tend to. I make a decision to do and take action, which loosens the muscles around my hips. Too personal? Sorry! (but not really, I'm an open book 🙃

For my patient today, she's been feeling self conscious about the project she feels called to start. This "not good enough" feeling was tightening her Kidney Qi, or deepest comfort with self, and then she was not taking action. This was causing the Gall Bladder channel, which raps around hips, to contract and tighten. This was putting a lot of pressure on her muscles all around her back.

Perhaps there is a lesson here for you? I just felt inspired to share. Love to you all.

A patient came in today for smoking cessation. Truthfully, I've had mixed results in the past. This patient had already done a ton of work, and new it wasn't about quitting as much as substituting with something that felt both healthy and good for the soul.

With that in mind we explored together what the smoking might actually be "helping". It was a way to take a break from the stress and anxiety. It felt like the smoke was like inviting warmth into her chest, akin to wrapping a nice warm blanket to wrap around her heart.

The heart should feel joy/freedom, but can feel confined/anxious with stress. It is surrounded by the lungs. Lungs are about the things that are pure/impure like oxygen vs carbon dioxide. It's also the mental aspect of value, what's right or wrong in the world and feeling a sense of order. Though another part of the lungs is about breathing in the heavenly goodness that's always surrounding us, just waiting for us to invite that nurturing feel into our being.

So we worked to relax some stress points in her chest and balance out the system, and started a path of learning how to breathe in Qi, really invite that warm hug feel, into our systems instead.

This can also be referred to as Qi Gong. It is the principles that "the force" from Star Wars is based upon. These principles are also a part of Tai Chi. There are many systems out there to learn this in depth, but don't underestimate the power of intent. It's there for our system if we choose to focus on it.

To whomever might need to hear this (including me), let's breathe in goodness on the regular together!

Just a little heads up.... My associate Teri and I are working on a community based offering. Hopefully we can get this going sometime in May. The idea is you're getting a shorter, more focused session in our big room in a group setting. This allows us to offer a lower cost option to those that can't spend for the regular prices.

We still are not accepting insurance. This is our way to help you navigate the challenges of not using standard insurance methods but still receiving care you need.

Best to you and your loved ones.
