Reflecting on 2025 and rounding out the year with an overwhelming sense of gratitude. I’ve always been unhappy with my work life…for my WHOLE life; but massage has changed that for me. Though I still say it’s a weird job! I was terrified when I started this a few years ago, but I kept going anyway. I’m so glad that I did. 2025 has been full of growth & learning; but I’m finally feeling much more settled. For the first time in my life, I look forward to going to work everyday. You all have made this possible. Thank you so much for trusting me enough to spend your time & money on my table.

When I started out, I was so concerned about being able to handle the physical demands of this work that I overlooked how socially & emotionally demanding it can be at times. However, I have met some incredible people who have been a blessing to me! Even though you pay me for a service, I truly look forward to catching up with you each visit. This year, I’ve witnessed joy & grief, marriages, separations, new homes, babies, & new jobs. It’s truly an honor to hold space for you & whatever is happening in your life. Hopefully, you leave my table feeling a little bit better than when you came in. Wishing you all a healthy, happy & thriving 2026!

Last week I had a client ask me why they feel drunk after a massage. Short answer- That’s your body just doing its thing!! Long answer ⬇️

🧠That’s a shift in your nervous system, your body moving from a sympathetic (stress) response to a parasympathetic (relaxation & rest) response, causing that tired feeling.

😊 Massage triggers an endorphin dump. Endorphins are your body’s natural pain killers, produced in your brain. They can have a powerful effect on your sense of wellbeing & your body’s ability to transmit pain signals to your brain. They basically turn off your pain signals & make you feel good.

💆‍♀️ Massage causes your cortisol (stress hormone) levels to drop & your body to release your happiness hormones dopamine, serotonin, & oxytocin. This can cause a euphoric feeling.

🔃 In addition to these things, massage temporarily lowers your blood pressure & drastically improves circulation. This increased circulation delivers nutrients to muscle tissues & flushes out metabolic waste. While your body is “recalibrating” as you climb off of the table, you might feel slightly disoriented or even possibly a little light headed.

Overall, this is all good stuff. Nothing to be concerned about! 🫶
