As flu, COVID, and RSV activity continues throughout our region, visitor restrictions at Hancock Health are still in place to help protect our patients, families, and care teams:

- No one with flu-like symptoms may visit (fever, cough, runny nose, chills, and/or sore throat)
- Visitation is restricted to immediate family as identified by the patient.
- Visitors under the age of 18 are not recommended.
- All guests, vendors, volunteers, and associates must be vigilant about proper handwashing and cover your cough/sneeze.

We know these precautions can be difficult, but they are an important step in keeping our hospital environment as safe and healthy as possible during respiratory virus season.

Meet Amelie Medley, MD, General Surgeon at Hancock Surgical Group ➡️ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hue_vsxw-qM 🎥

Dr. Medley brings a global depth of experience to East Central Indiana, from growing up in rural Germany to advanced training in minimally invasive and foregut surgery. After completing her residency in Indianapolis, she went on to finish a fellowship in Advanced GI Surgery and now holds specialized certifications that allow her to care for patients with leading-edge surgical options close to home.

What she loves most about surgery is the ability to make a meaningful difference in a short amount of time, helping patients feel better, heal faster, and regain quality of life. 🩺

And for Dr. Medley, care is never just about the procedure. She wants her patients to know they can talk about more than the immediate surgical need, because she believes in treating the whole person, not just the diagnosis.

Outside of the hospital, she enjoys horseback riding, hiking, and spending time with her family (and if she weren’t a surgeon, she says she’d probably be a veterinarian… though she might end up bringing all the animals home!).

Born and raised in Central Indiana, Dr. Clutter’s passion for medicine started early, from working as an ER scribe to serving as an EMT before heading to medical school at Marian University College of Osteopathic Medicine and completing his residency at Ball Memorial Hospital. 🏥

What he loves most about his work? Partnering with patients and care teams to solve complex problems, learning something new every day, and helping people better understand their health.
