Investing in our team means investing in better care. 🧡

The Hancock Wellness Center - McCordsville, Hancock Wellness Center - New Palestine and Hancock Wellness Center - Greenfield Clinical Exercise teams recently completed Exercise Oncology Instructor Certifications through the Maple Tree Cancer Alliance, strengthening their ability to support patients through every stage of cancer care.

🧡 Meet Kristen Irwin, MD, a board-certified internal medicine physician at Hancock Health dedicated to helping patients navigate their health with honest, thoughtful, patient-centered care ➡️ hancockhealth.org/doctor/kristen-irwin-md. 🔗

Dr. Irwin’s interest in medicine began in middle school, when learning about the human body sparked a fascination that stayed with her through the years. That early curiosity led her to pursue a career in medicine, ultimately earning her medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine and completing her post-graduate residency training at Ascension St. Vincent Indianapolis.

With a special interest in preventive medicine, women’s health, and diabetes care, Dr. Irwin is committed to helping patients better understand their health and feel supported in the care they receive. She believes patients can always expect honesty from her, and that making health possible means offering care and assistance in ways people can truly receive and appreciate. 🩺

Dr. Irwin values the opportunity to care for patients in a way that is both practical and personal, meeting them where they are and helping them take meaningful steps toward better health.

Outside of work, she stays busy spending time with her three children, who keep life full and active every day.

🧡 Meet Kim Heim, NP, MSN, BSN, RNCS, a nurse practitioner at Hancock Health dedicated to supporting women through every stage of life with compassionate, relationship-based care ➡️ hancockhealth.org/doctor/kim-heim-np-msn-bsn-rncs. 🔗

Kim has long had a passion for nursing and the many paths it can open for caring for others. After earning her bachelor’s degree from Indiana University and her master’s degree from Indiana University School of Nursing, she brought that passion into a career centered on caring for women and building lasting patient relationships.

As a nurse practitioner in OB/GYN, Kim finds deep meaning in walking alongside women through the years and seeing the lasting impact of conversations, guidance, and care. She loves caring for patients across generations and finds special joy in seeing little children come into the office, always bringing a smile to her face. đź©ş

Kim says one of the most rewarding parts of her work is watching women make positive changes in their lives and then pass those lessons on to their own daughters.

Outside of work, Kim and her husband enjoy this new stage of life as empty nesters in her hometown of rural Rush County.
