Jacqueline "Jackie" Stephens

Jacqueline (Jackie) Stephens, 72 years, a resident of Greenfield entered the gates of Heaven Wednesday, April 1, 2026. She was surrounded by her loved ones at the time of her passing. She was born December 1, 1953, in Fleming-Neon, Kentucky to the late William and Ethel (McCall) Anderson.

She worked at several factories through the years with the last being the Eaton Corporation in Greenfield. Upon its closing, she chose to retire and spend her time with her grandchildren. She was a devout Christian and a longtime member of Mt. Lebanon Church. She enjoyed garage sales with her sister, watching true crime shows, Disney movies and listening to Christmas music all year round. What made Jackie the happiest was being a Mamaw to her five grandchildren and especially her one great grandchild. Her world revolved around these six and she always made them feel like the favorite. The grandchildren always gravitated towards her. They would surround her in her chair and fight over the best spots that were the closest to her and then complain because one of them was touching the other. She made her home so welcoming and was the gathering place even as the grandchildren grew older. She was the center of our family and gave us all strength, comfort and love.

She is survived by her sons, Tony (Kimberly Shive), Terry (Heidi) Stephens, sisters, Charmia Smith, Glatha Tyler, Tammy Davis, Melinda Polly, Patricia Anderson, brother, Randy Anderson, grandchildren, Brooke, Brady, Bailey, Madison, Zachary, great granddaughter, Emmey Arnold, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents listed above, husband, Earl Stephens in 2020 and several siblings.

Visitation will be 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Thursday, April 9, 2026, at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel, 1780 W. Main Street, Greenfield, Indiana 46140. Funeral service will be 12:00 pm Friday, April 10th at the funeral home with burial to follow at Mt. Lebanon Church Cemetery, Greenfield.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 9045 River Road, Indianapolis, IN 46240

Donald Dean Kniep

Donald Dean Kniep, 87, of Indianapolis, IN, passed away on Monday, March 30, 2026. Donald was born on March 19, 1939, in Lincoln Nebraska to Julius and Rosa (Bryant) Kniep. He graduated from Howe High School in Indianapolis with the Class of 1957.

He married the love of his life, Nancy (Emberton), on January 19, 1961. Together they raised three loving daughters. Don enjoyed life’s simple pleasures, but nothing meant more to him than Nancy’s cooking—the comfort and love shared around home-cooked meals were ever present in their lives. After Nancy’s passing in 2017, Don started a ritual of Sunday breakfasts, usually at the local Denny’s or, occasionally, McDonald’s when the mood struck him.

Donald worked as a dock worker for Standard Grocery for 22 years and he was a proud member of Teamsters Local 135. A loyal and dedicated employee, he remained with the company until it was bought out by Marsh Supermarkets. He then went to work for CTT until he retired in 2001.

Above all, Don was known for being caring and nurturing. When his children were growing up, he raised chickens and ducks at his home in the city. His deep love for animals never faded, and he could often be found feeding birds and squirrels in his yard. One such squirrel grew especially fond of Don which made him exceptionally fat, waiting outside his door and occasionally coming inside for snacks. Don loved gardening, and his garden was never complete without his prized corn, green beans, cucumbers, and tomatoes. He was also known to load the girls up in car and go for long drives in the country, often popping in on relatives and friends. He often reminisced about a time when neighbors would visit one another with no reason or agenda—just stopping by to be neighborly.

Don was preceded in death by his parents; Julius, and Rosa; his wife, Nancy; his brothers, Bill Kniep, and David Kniep; his granddaughter, Amanda Cook; and his brothers-in-law, Sonny Goodloe and Mike Carr.

He is survived by his daughters, Terri (Jeff) Wilson, Debbie (Brad) Deck, and Pam Redenbarger; his grandchildren, Jeffery (Sarah) Doughty, Stephen (Elizabeth) Doughty, and Kala (Leathen) Scott; his great-grandchildren, Jacob Cook, Jackson Cook, Jayden Cook, Hayden Doughty, Emma Scott, and Stella Scott; and his siblings, Alice (Rick) Spencer, Eileen Goodloe, and Phyllis Carr.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday April 7, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at New Palestine Cemetery 5055 500W, New Palestine IN 46163. If you would like to sign the online guest book or send condolences to the family, you may do so by visiting www.stillingerfamily.com

Richard Ray Alexander

Richard Ray Alexander, 85, of Greenfield, Indiana, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, March 28, 2026, surrounded by friends and loved ones. Born in Indianapolis to Ray and Dorothy (VanScyoc) Alexander, "Dick" grew up with a passion for athletics and community. He was a proud graduate of Howe High School and went on to attend Wabash College, where he competed at the collegiate level in both cross country and track.

After three years of study, Dick returned to Indianapolis to serve as a bookkeeper for Blue and White Services, the same company where he had worked as a teenager. It was there that he met the love of his life, Norma Lee (Slaven) Alexander. The two were wed on October 9, 1965, beginning a journey of over 60 years together.

Dick also honorably served his country as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force Reserves. In December 1968, his unit was called to active duty and stationed in Vietnam. Upon his return, he resumed his career at Blue and White Services, where he remained a pillar of the company for nearly 40 years until its closing in 2001.

Dick’s life was defined by an unwavering devotion to his family and his faith in Jesus Christ. A longtime, dedicated member of Sunnyside Road Baptist and, more recently, Buck Creek Baptist Church, he lived his values through his kindness and service to others. He was a talented amateur craftsman who found joy in woodworking, basket weaving and creating intricate stained glass pieces. Additionally, he enjoyed tending to his vegetable garden, following auto racing and cheering on his favorite sports teams. Most importantly, he loved his seven grandchildren. His biggest smiles were generated over family meals and holiday celebrations, as well as watching them participate in sports and the arts.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Norma Alexander; his children, Christopher Alexander (Muncie, IN) and Melinda “Mindy” Smock (New Palestine, IN); and his cherished grandchildren: Zachary (Corey) Alexander, Marley Alexander, Eli Alexander, Ella Alexander, Noah Smock, Emilee (Andre) Petersen, and Samantha Smock. He also leaves behind his siblings: Barbara (Rich) DeLong, Sandra (Leonard) Justice, and Jeff (Nancy) Alexander.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents and his son-in-law, Jeff Smock.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 2, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Stillinger Family Funeral Home 1780 West Main Street, Greenfield, Indiana Funeral Services will take place on Friday, April 3, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. With Pastor Randy Stone officiating.
