“Why didn’t my chemical peel work?” or “I didn’t even peel.” 👀
Here’s the esthetician truth:
1️⃣ PEEL PREP MATTERS
If you’re dealing with deep hyperpigmentation or melasma and you weren’t on a melanin suppressant (like kojic, arbutin, azelaic, hydroquinone under pro guidance) + a smart retinoid before your peel… the peel is fighting blind.
2️⃣ ONE PEEL ISN’T A MAGIC WAND
Most real results come from a planned SERIES and a mapped routine, not a one-off “holiday peel.”
3️⃣ SPF + AFTERCARE = EVERYTHING
If you’re not strict with sunscreen, avoiding heat/sun, and following your post-care, you can literally undo what the peel tried to correct.
4️⃣ WRONG PEEL FOR YOUR SKIN
Not every peel is safe or effective for melanin-rich or sensitized skin. Strength and ingredients have to match your skin type, your tone, and your concerns.
A peel is a TOOL, not a cure.
The real power is: prep, peel plan, and aftercare.
Save this before you book your next chemical peel.
