🎨 NEW CLASS! 🎨

You’ve heard of birth education classes, you’ve read the books, you’ve practiced the positions, you’ve heard all the advice from friends. But, an important piece of preparation lies with the creative part of the brain! We birth in the intuitive, ancient part of our brain. This class experience is just for that!

Join me, February 26th at for an evening of exploration and reflection through art. Take time to pause your thinking brain and listen to your creative brain- often new truths, confidence, and insights flow from here.

Birth can be messy, primal, challenging, fluid, unknown, and wildly revealing. JUST LIKE MAKING ART 🖼️ ✨

This birth art class is open for pregnant parents by themselves or with their partner. No art skills or experience is necessary!

Overjoyed to now offer private and group Birth Art sessions!

Art-making in birth preparation and in postpartum debriefing gives parents the experience of moving into their creative and intuitive mind. This is the space of birth. But, it’s also the space of healing, beliefs, sensuality, insights, and solutions. The philosophy here is not about analyzing the art or outcome, but spending time in the unfolding and meeting the path before you with peace, intuition, and understanding.

My first placenta for October. This mama’s placenta was processed into capsules and a tincture, and was memorialized with a blood print and cord keepsake. I’ve never had such a perfectly circular placenta before. I enjoy the uniqueness of each womb twin, their energy, and their story. They mothered that babe within the mother; advocated for, nourished, protected, and healed. So incredible is this transient organ, worthy of some reverence.

One of four placentas to fill my hands this week!

This was a rich, juicy, and heavy one. I imagine how fervently she fed and protected that baby in womb. Now she’s medicine for mama.

The placenta is our first advocate, a mother within a mother if you will. Her entire existence is to nurture and sustain, she does that so well even under challenging circumstances.

It’s , but for the first time in 5 years I’m not breastfeeding.

It was half a decade for me and my babies. It was work and it was love. It both came naturally to me and required me to seek support and help. My story consists of pump parts, bottles, tongue ties, exclusive breastfeeding, and extended breastfeeding.

The very part of my body I held in shame for being so small, showed up in the biggest way for my babies. I’ve never been more proud of these itty bitties.

Breastmilk given in years or just a few mLs is invaluable and worth celebrating. In the same breath, however you feed your baby is important and wonderful. Breastfeeding doesn’t work for every family; if you choose peace and love as your intention while you feed your baby and you won’t ever be wrong.

“I am rooted, but I flow”

I have returned to this phrase over and over as life carries on through and around me. My
children grow older, I grow older (and hopefully wiser), I witness our circumstances change, I watch loved ones come and go naturally. I used to believe I needed to fully be one idea, but now I understand I exist as many. It is my roots that reach for a common ground, while my blooming and fruit flow and vary.

In this season of motherhood and being, I will continue to welcome just a handful of births while eagerly accepting a plethora of placentas. Participating in the alchemy of placentas transforming into art and medicine brings me an unbridled joy, one that I have adequate energy, love, and time to pour into. I am offering private birth classes, taught comfortably within the home and based on parents’ schedules.

You can find my birth arts and treasures within my etsy store; everything from watercolor art to umbilical cord ties, and breastmilk soap kits. I am updating my store weekly over summer.

Birth work, art, motherhood, and teaching are my greatest joys and honor. I hope to cross paths with many along the way in support, fellowship, and service.

Another set of Placenta prints!

I love capturing the still image of this advocate, and my goodness does this transient organ advocate. She speaks the first language of motherhood, love and blood between babe and mama. The purest expression of give and take in effort to create wholeness and connectedness.
