Today is a very special day for me! It marks 20 years doing what I love to do!
20 years ago I became a professional massage therapist.
Why did I get into massage therapy?
I was in my little NJ high school class where a representative came in to speak about different trades, massage therapy being one of them. I thought it would be a great stepping stone, something to help me make money while going through college.
How did I fall in love with massage therapy?
After graduation, I got a job at this amazing day Spa named in NJ. The owner took me under her wing and taught me technique and how to really listen to clients. She was amazing.
I am still so grateful for this mentor, for teaching me technique, but also how I deserve to be treated at my workplace.
This is how I ended up opening IGH!
I have worked at many places since leaving NJ, and not one of the business owners I’ve worked for have treated me as a human being. I was overworked, under appreciated, sometimes verbally abused right in front of colleagues and clients.
At IGH, not only do I get to ensure I’m treated well, I have the opportunity to show other Massage therapists how they should be treated as well.
So, to another 20 years! 🥂🎉🥳
