Congratulations to Connie Thornton, RN, a case manager at St. Mary’s Sacred Heart Hospital, on receiving our November Spirit of Mercy Award. Connie lives, works and serves in the spirit of Catherine McAuley, founder of our legacy sponsor, the Sisters of Mercy. She sees the needy, those hurt by injustice, and the broken-hearted. She is always willing to show love and kindness. She will rally colleagues to help patients who need clothing, food, transportation or other necessities. She treats everyone as equals and truly honors the sacredness and dignity of every person. As one of her colleagues said, “Nursing is her career, but serving is her calling.” Thank you, Connie!

🎄The whole community is invited to the annual lighting of the Love Lights Tree at St. Mary's Good Samaritan Hospital, Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2025, at 5:30 p.m. The hospital atrium will be energized by the Arts Barn Kids and the OPAS Community Youth Chorus with a festive holiday program.
