OCD Awareness Week: Breaking the Stigma, Spreading Understanding 💙
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is more than just being neat or organized—it’s a mental health condition that involves intrusive, unwanted thoughts (obsessions) and repetitive behaviors or mental acts (compulsions) done to ease distress. These symptoms can interfere with daily life, relationships, and overall well-being.
OCD affects people of all ages and backgrounds, yet it’s often misunderstood. Many individuals struggle in silence due to stigma or fear of judgment. OCD Awareness Week (October 12–18, 2025) is dedicated to changing that narrative—by promoting education, compassion, and open conversation about what OCD truly is.
This week is a time to:
• Learn about the signs and symptoms of OCD
• Encourage loved ones to seek professional help
• Challenge myths and stereotypes about mental health
• Share personal stories and raise awareness online
Let’s stand together to show that help is available, recovery is possible, and no one has to face OCD alone. 💙
