Because of the generosity of our community, patients at Decatur County Memorial Hospital are benefiting from innovative new technology in rehabilitation care.

Through a recent department grant, the Hospital Foundation of Decatur County funded the Butterfly iQ3 β€” a handheld ultrasound device that allows speech-language pathologists to visualize tongue movement in real time. This technology gives patients the ability to see what’s happening during therapy, helping them better understand and improve speech and swallowing functions.

For patients working through challenges like articulation, dysphagia, and apraxia, this added level of precision can make a meaningful difference in their progress.
