Just a reminder our bowling 🎳 practices start tonight! Additional reminders:

-If athletes are registering through a school or an organization they do NOT have to attend but are more than welcome to.

-All practices are optional. Independent athletes just need to make one practice to register for our local event.

-If you need help with the new health history portal we can assist.

-We ask for your patience in advance as we are expecting a lot of athletes at each practice.

-Athletes can arrive anytime up until 6:00. Bowling will start around 5:30-5:35. Doors open @ 5:00.

-We will be in touch about everything else! Any further questions reach out to us.

We are extremely excited to announce the details of our Local Bowling event! All details are on the flyers 🎳🎳🎳

A county wide email as well as an email to all schools/organizations will be sent tomorrow. Paper mail by the end of the week.

As stated on flyers athletes do not need to attend a practice if you’re training/registering with a team but you’re more than welcome.

Steps to compete:

1. Register with a team or as an independent athlete.

2. Complete this link:

Scroll down to the Three Rivers Region and follow it from there to bowling at Hillview Lanes. Takes about a minute or so. All athletes need to complete by 10/15.

3. Complete the new health history portal. This has taken place of the paper medical. There is no deadline for winter sports yet but please complete as soon as possible. You should create a profile under the athlete name and follow steps on the checklist. If unable to complete please don’t worry as we will be able to assist at practices or the event. We encourage everyone to attempt.

If you have already signed up for bowling via an email from the Region you’re good to go for step 2. As well as if you completed step 3 for a Fall sport or otherwise. We will be doubling and tripling back through this in a few weeks. That is good for one year for any sport.

With this post long overdue we would like to extend a HUGE thank you for an anonymous donation from a graduate of the Hempfield Sr. HS class of 1986.

They incredibly and so generously matched the Terry Ranieri outing this year in donating $3,000 dollars to our program!! They did not want named but you know who you are. We can’t thank you enough. As well as the Ranieri family.

What a crazy actioned packed 3 days for Westmoreland County sports!

Saturday, September 20th
Regional Bocce Fest @ AHN Montour
11 teams, 5 golds, 3 silvers, 2 bronze and a 4th

Sunday, September 21st
Regional Middle Road Tournament
3 flag football teams and 2 walkers
7-0 for Flag football with 3 golds (2 split)
Walkers brought home a gold, 2 silver and a bronze

Due to heat and other factors on Sunday, our Wolverines 2 and 3 flag teams elected to play each other Monday at practice for the official winner of that division (there were only 2 divisons yesterday). Very competiive and fun night.

Overall incredible weekend for us and we are extremely proud of every single athlete. Job extremely well done! Keep up the good work.

Last but certainly NOT least this could never be done without our incredible and dedicated coaches. You guys are amazing and are the reason this happens. We would like to extend a special thank you to Coach Marie for running our bocce program, Coach Joe for running our walking program and Coach Dan for running our flag football program. Along with all of our other assistant coaches. Thank YOU!

On a different note we also wanted to include that one of our athletes (Zachary Williams) is going to the Epilesy Monitoring unit starting on 9/24. He is ok but needs some adjusting with certain things. He is extremely positive and enthusiastic about this but he needs our help. Below is a link to send him a an ecard if you have a minute. He would absolutely love this and he is such an incredible leader in our County, being the head of our athlete leadership team and the athlete leader of our fundraising. Incredible young man! We have been getting a ton of questions regarding this so we hope this post helps. As most might have seen (email from the Region) the Regional signups started yesterday and run through 10/15. Here is the link:

We offer snowshoe, alpine skiing and bowling as winter sports. In addition to filing out that form ALL athletes need to create a new health history portal. This is completely taking place of the paper medicals. We encourage everyone to at least create a profile (athlete name) and try it. We will have multiple practices with coaches there to help if you can’t get it to work. That deadline will be after 10/15 but it’s not confirmed yet. The link to that is:

If you have already done this for fall sports or in general it’s good for one year until renewing. Again we will be there to help with this process and provide updates every time we get them.

As far as practice info we are still in the thick of things for our fall sports. We plan to have all winter sports info finalized by early October. As usual we will make a post on here, send out emails and paper mail to everyone interested in those sports. As well as to the public schools and organizations for bowling. We just wanted to confirm that no one has missed anything. Once the 10/15 deadline passes we will then reconfirm with everyone on the list that has signed up.

To simplify, right now athletes need to:

As communicated to all registered athletes and coaches we made the decision to reschedule our local Bocce event for 9/13 due to potential heavy rainfall this weekend.
