Larry W. Colburn, age 74 of Fisherville, Spencer County, Kentucky passed away on Monday, March 9, 2026 surrounded by his loving family. Larry was born on April 13, 1951 to the late Rudolph and Myrl Katherine Lee Colburn in Bowling Green, Warren County, Kentucky.
Larry graduated from Western High School Class of 1969 and attended Eastern Kentucky University. Larry's entire life was centered around service as he was a member of the City of Louisville Fire Department, Louisville Police Department, Jefferson County Police Department and the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department with a combination of over 50 plus years. He was a motorcycle enthusiast and a member of the Blue Knights Kentucky VII, a police motorcycle club.
Larry loved old classic cars, enjoyed showing his cars and competing in many car shows. He enjoyed being on the water, where he spent many hours with his family at his beachfront residence in Florida and lake house on Barren River Lake.
In addition to his parents, Larry is preceded in death by his former wife and mother of their children, Deborah Colburn who passed in 2020.
Larry leaves to cherish his memory, his loving children, Christopher W. Colburn (Tennya) and Brandie Colburn-Blake (Terry); grandchildren, Nicholas Fuller, Aubrey Colburn, Taylor-Grace Blake and Alex Colburn; his four legged child, Gracie Ann; siblings, Mike Colburn (Margaret) and Brenda Colburn Benson; several cousins, nieces and nephews; and a host of family and friends.

Visitation will be from 4pm to 8pm, EASTERN TIME, on Thursday, March 19, 2026 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, East Louisville Chapel, 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, KY 40243.
A funeral service to celebrate Larry's life will be there on Friday, March 20th at 10am. Burial will follow in Bloyd-Perkins Cemetery in Summersville, Kentucky, the corner of Perkins Cemetery Road and Hudgins Rd. at 2PM EASTERN TIME / 1PM CENTRAL TIME.
