When you donate to the food drive this is who you’re donating to…

JUST KIDDING (much to Bruno’s disappointment), but you are donating to the 16,000+ folks currently being fed every single month by the Westmoreland Food Bank, and Bruno thinks that is really amazing of you 🫶

“Look for helpers. You will always find people who are helping” - Fred Rogers

Loriann Fetter Counseling and Psychotherapy is teaming up with the Westmoreland Food Bank to support our local community during this holiday season. Food scarcity and accessibility to food is an imminent issue and we are driven to help support those who need it most in our very own community.

Food scarcity issues translate to mental health issues. As mental health providers, we are well aware of the relationship between physical and mental health. Research studies indicate that food scarcity results in higher rates of depression, anxiety, and suicidal ideation in children, adolescents, and adults (NAMI, 2024).

Throughout the month of November, we are committed to collecting food for the food bank and we need your help! We will have collection bins posted in the waiting room of our office and on the first and second floors of our building. How many bins do you think we can fill?!

Bring a can of corn to session, send a Walmart delivery to our address, or simply share this post with your friends and family- no donation is too small, and YOU can make a difference with us.

Shorter days have an impact on our bodies and neurochemistry in some surprising ways. During this time of the year, it’s even more important to be mindful of your self-care practices, especially maintaining proper sleep, limiting screen time, and fueling your body with nutritious foods.

Remember: a health mind is housed in a healthy body 🫶

Do you notice yourself feeling more “down” over the last week or so? Changes in weather, reductions in daylight, and the anticipation of winter and the holidays are among some of the factors that can trigger seasonal affective experiences.

If you notice changes in your mental health and wellbeing during this time of the year, be sure to talk to your doctor and/ or therapist for additional support and resources 🍂🧠🧡

Today is World Mental Health Day!💚 Take a moment to prioritize your mental well-being and remember that you deserve love, recognition, and support.
