Cold air and indoor heating can dry out skin and hair. Moisturize daily, use gentle cleansers, limit hot showers, and protect your skin with SPF—even in winter! Sunscreen is important for everyone, no matter how pale or dark your skin is. For hair, use hydrating shampoos and conditioners and wear a scarf or hat.

Myth: “Mammograms aren’t necessary until age 50.”

Fact: Many healthcare providers recommend beginning routine mammograms at age 40 — and even earlier if you have a family history of breast cancer or other risk factors. Early detection can save lives, and staying informed about your health empowers you to make confident decisions for your future.

At Carolina Pregnancy Center, we care about your whole health — body, mind, and heart. If you have questions or need help finding support, we’re here for you.

📌 Helpful Resources for Breast Health:

Breast Cancer Screening Guidelines: American Cancer Society

Low-Cost or Free Mammogram Programs: NC Breast & Cervical Cancer Control Program (NC BCCCP)

Find a Screening Provider Near You: CDC’s Early Detection Program

Local Women’s Health Clinics: ECU Health Women’s Center & Wilson Medical Center

Support for Those Facing a Diagnosis: Susan G. Komen Helpline & Hope Lodge (housing during treatment)

You matter — your health matters — and support is always within reach. 💗

🌎 International Day of Persons with Disabilities 🤍

Today, we honor the incredible value and dignity of every person living with a disability. At Carolina Pregnancy Center, we understand that when a parent receives an unexpected diagnosis — for themselves or their child — it can bring fear, uncertainty, and difficult questions. If you’re navigating those feelings today, you’re not alone.

Our heart is to walk alongside you with compassion, support, and hope. We believe every life has purpose and worth, and we are here to offer a safe, judgment-free space to process your emotions, ask questions, and explore your options.

To every individual and family touched by disability, your strength and your story matter. And to those who are unsure of what to do next — we see you, we care about you, and we’re here to support you in whatever you’re facing.

Every life is a gift. Every story matters. 🤍

December Urgent Needs Drive! 🎄

This month, we’re focusing on the items that will make the biggest difference for the moms and families we serve:

🍼 Diapers (Sizes 2 & 6) – These sizes are urgently needed and help families care for their little ones.
👗 Girls’ Clothing (18–24 months) – New or gently used outfits are a wonderful blessing to growing toddlers.
👕 Boys’ Clothing (6–9 months) – Cozy, clean, and gently used or new items are especially appreciated this month.

Every donation you give goes directly into the hands of moms who are working hard to provide for their children. Your generosity brings dignity, comfort, and hope to families who need it most. 💛

📍 Drop-off Location: Items can be left at our front entrance during business hours. Just ring the doorbell, and someone will be happy to assist you!
