Carolina WaterBirth

Carolina WaterBirth Carolina WaterBirth is the practice of Sandy Glenn, Licensed Midwife. We deliver at Carolina Birth Center in Greenville, SC. We Believe in Birth. Your Birth!
(1)

Independent Midwifery offers Birth Center, Home Birth, Natural Birth, Birth Classes, & VBAC resources. We Believe in You. Are you looking for a gentle and supported birth? This is more than a place to have a baby, this is a place to have a good birth. Your Baby’s Birth! Being independent means that although we might consult with physicians, we are not owned, employed, or supervised by physicians or a hospital. Our cesarean sections rates are very low (usually under 7%), our breastfeeding success rate is over 90%. We do no episiotomies and you'll get hours of bonding time with your baby. That's what it means to use a Freestanding Birth Center and a Licensed Midwife. Carolina WaterBirth provides care at homes throughout the entire Upstate and at our freestanding birthing center, Carolina Birth Center, LLC with Licensed Midwives and a physician. We help you have the birth you and your baby deserve. As natural birth midwives, we support you through every step of your pregnancy and birth. Excellent prenatal care, education, preventative care and attentive care providers come together for your big day. Hospitals have started to add tubs and claim to be promoting a natural birth experience, but without the overall support, their births are less than desirable. Overworked staff, hospital procedures, IV’s, incubators and infant test do not yield the same results as a freestanding birth center. They have high cesarean and epidural rates (despite the added tubs.) To have a gentle birth, you’ll need quiet, privacy, dim lighting and peace. Your baby needs to be handled with soft hands and respected as a new person. You and your baby should be together at all times and helped to breastfeed immediately. Don’t be fooled by imitation birthing rooms. Carolina WaterBirth is the place to have Your Birth. www.CarolinaWaterBirth.com

North American Registry of Midwives (NARM) faces a lawsuit for unfair practices. This comes after the organization has recently replaced it's entire Board of Directors for "fiduciary misconduct." Even before the NARM members can vote on a new Board, the Interim Board is slowly replacing NARM policies, yet they have not attempted to settle the NARM failures described in this lawsuit.

Paul Golden talks with midwives taking legal action against their regulator NARM for lack of due process in regulating midwifery investigations. They have b...
