Free medical clinics can’t help because they don’t accept Medicaid insurance. And free medical clinics can’t help undocumented residents, even if they’re children. At Unity Health on Main, we care for everyone.
UHM was formed in 2016 in response to past and current community needs assessments which identified access to healthcare as one of four main priorities. We’re led by a group of grassroots community volunteers passionate about addressing the needs of a medically underserved area.
We do that by creating a neighborhood-based health center and providing comprehensive primary care health services that are culturally competent and client-driven in a location that is easily accessible to public transportation.
Lack of access is the largest challenge.
A 2016 needs assessment revealed lack of access to healthcare as the largest challenge faced by Greenville County.
It’s affecting an entire community.
Over 43,479 residents in Greenville County are Hispanic. And 11% of them are children under the age of 5.
But we can’t do this without you.
Your support is a vital part of our ability to serve the growing uninsured and underinsured populations in Greenville and surrounding areas.
Without the support of our partners, our community, and people like you, we would not be able to reach the more than 70,000 Greenville County residents in need. Join us in our quest to provide compassionate and culturally competent care to the Medically Underserved Community of Greenville County SC.
