Spirit EMS Report: December 7-13, 2025
Spirit EMS, serving the Houston Joint Ambulance District, responded to six emergency calls from December 7-13, 2025, according to Brian K. Hathaway, President and CEO. This marks an increase of two calls from the previous week.
All six calls originated within the Houston Joint Ambulance District, which includes Loramie and Washington Townships and the Village of Lockington (excluding the Village of Russia) for which Spirit EMS crews responded to all calls from its station located at 5125 Russia-Houston Road, Houston.
Of the six calls, four patients were transported, including one to Upper Valley Medical Center in Troy and three to Wilson Health in Sidney. One patient declined transport after an on‑scene evaluation following a gas leak incident in which Spirit EMS responded alongside the Lockington Fire Department. No injuries occurred.
Additionally, Spirit EMS was first to arrive and provided standby support at a structure fire on Millcreek Road in Washington Township. Firefighters from Lockington, Houston, Russia, and Sidney, along with Shelby County deputies, also responded.
Spirit EMS achieved a 100% response rate for all dispatched calls for the week.
Spirit EMS Report: December 14–20, 2025
Spirit EMS responded to six emergency calls between December 14 and 20, 2025, according to Brian K. Hathaway, President and CEO. This matches the same call volume as the previous week.
All six calls originated within the Houston Joint Ambulance District, which includes Loramie and Washington Townships and the Village of Lockington (excluding the Village of Russia).
Of the six calls, five patients were transported, including one to Upper Valley Medical Center in Troy and four to Wilson Health in Sidney. One individual was pronounced deceased upon EMS arrival. Versailles EMS was mistakenly dispatched to an address within the district and transported the patient from the scene. Russia Fire first responders also assisted EMS personnel on the call.
Spirit EMS received assistance from Houston Fire Department first responders on one call and Russia Fire first responders on another. Shelby County deputies also responded to two of the six calls alongside Spirit EMS crews. There were no calls during the eight-hour period in which Kettering Health Mobile Care EMS covered the district while on-duty Spirit EMS employees attended the company Christmas party.

While serving the Houston Joint Ambulance District, Spirit EMS responded to four emergency calls between December 21-27, 2025, according to Brian K. Hathaway, President and CEO. This reflects a decrease of two calls compared to the previous week.
All four calls originated within the Houston Joint Ambulance District, which includes Loramie and Washington Townships and the Village of Lockington (excluding the Village of Russia).
Of the four calls, one patient was transported to Upper Valley Medical Center in Troy. Spirit EMS was dispatched to one scene to provide standby assistance to Shelby County deputies, and on another call, crews responded to a medical alarm but were disregarded upon arrival. One patient declined transport after an on‑scene evaluation by EMS personnel.
All responses were handled from Spirit EMS’s station located at 5125 Russia-Houston Road in Houston.
For another week, Spirit EMS maintained a 100% response rate on all dispatched calls, underscoring its commitment to reliable, timely emergency medical service for the area it serves.
