The Pitt County Salvation Army will operate an overnight warming station due to projected inclement weather on Sunday evening, January 17, 2026, at 2718 South Memorial Drive in Greenville. The warming station is for adults only and will open at 6:00 p.m. for an overnight stay. Space is limited to a maximum of 20 individuals and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Dr. Harrell currently serves as a Councilwoman, where she is recognized as a strong advocate for community-driven solutions, policy innovation, and responsible stewardship of public resources. Her ability to bridge community voice with institutional decision-making positions her to lead with clarity, compassion, and strategic vision.

As President-Elect, Dr. Harrell will partner with the Board, staff, and community stakeholders to:

• Advance measurable, community-level impact

🦃 One Touch Community Counseling Services Thanksgiving Support Initiative 🧡

With the ongoing government shutdown and the potential loss or pause of SNAP benefits this month, many families in our community are facing uncertainty about their next meal.

To help ease that burden, One Touch will sponsor 3 Thanksgiving dinners for families in need. Everyone deserves to gather around a table and share a warm meal this season, no matter what’s happening in Washington.

We are accepting nominations for households that meet one of the following criteria:
1️⃣ Unemployed or underemployed households with dependents who currently receive SNAP benefits.
2️⃣ Seniors with limited income who currently receive SNAP benefits.

Nominations will close November 10th at 5pm.

If you know someone who fits either category and could use a little extra support this Thanksgiving, please reach out privately. All nominations will be handled with care and confidentiality.

The Behavioral Health Urgent Care will offer 24-hour rapid, short-term stabilization for children and adults experiencing a mental health crisis related to a mental health, substance use, and/or Intellectual Developmental Disorder diagnosis. The center offers an alternative to a community hospital's Emergency Department and provides a more suitable setting for mental health care.
