Before and after shots of a bronze cam. Resurfacing helps smooth out the tuning and pedal movement. The crushed cam is a symptom of frame flexing, usually caused by the tuning handle being stuck in position on the rocker arm. (No clue what I’m talking about? I’ll post a video later…)

These are a stainless steel version and will be polished to a chrome-like finish before being installed on a rebuild currently in progress.

Shop expansion “done.” “Done” because there’s always more to do. A few big projects starting up right now and this space will be crammed full within the next couple days!

Following yesterday’s post: I’m copy-casting some parts to convert a single 29” Light timpani (Mark XI) to German for myself. The setup will make sense once I have pictures, but the idea is to have 32, 31, 29, 26 in a standard configuration for movie music.
This is a 29” I recently acquired and will post more about it later - perhaps some videos and How To’s as well!
