Sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is simply sit with the feeling.

This image is a reminder that emotions are not problems to fix. They are experiences to notice. Allow them without judgment. Name what you’re feeling. Stay present. Get curious about where it shows up in your body. Speak to yourself with compassion instead of criticism.

When we stop labeling emotions as “good” or “bad,” we create space for healing.

At Belle Tower Group, we help clients build the skills to tolerate, understand, and move through difficult emotions safely and effectively. What feeling might you need to sit with today?

February is Eating Disorder Awareness Month, a time to bring visibility to illnesses that are often hidden behind silence, stigma, and shame. Eating disorders affect people of all ages, genders, and backgrounds, and they are serious mental health conditions that deserve compassionate, evidence-based care.

At Belle Tower Group, we understand that disordered eating is rarely just about food. It is often connected to trauma, anxiety, depression, perfectionism, and struggles with control or self-worth. Our clinicians provide individualized therapy that addresses both the behavioral patterns and the underlying emotional drivers, creating a safe space for healing and long-term recovery.

If you or someone you love needs immediate support, confidential help is available:
📞 National Alliance for Eating Disorders Helpline: 866-662-1235
📞 National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA) Helpline: Call or text 800-931-2237
📱 Text “NEDA” to 741741 to connect with the Crisis Text Line
🚨 In an emergency, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room.

Recovery is possible. Early support matters. If you are ready to talk, Belle Tower Group is here to help. Call or text 616-835-9292 to schedule and appointment.

💜 Sunday Self Care 💜
This week’s self-care practice is:
🪫 Rest & Recharge 🔋

Rest is not a reward for productivity—it’s a biological and emotional necessity. When we intentionally rest, we regulate our nervous system, lower cortisol levels, and improve mood, focus, and resilience. Without adequate recharge time, stress compounds and mental health suffers.

How to practice this:
☝🏼 Set a 20–30 minute “non-negotiable” reset time—no multitasking.
☝🏼 Put your phone on do-not-disturb and step away from screens.
☝🏼 Try guided breathing, light stretching, or simply lying down in a quiet space.
☝🏼 Go to bed 30 minutes earlier than usual for one week and track how you feel.

Rest strengthens emotional regulation, reduces irritability, and helps you respond rather than react. Protecting your energy is protecting your mental health.

Family pressure can be subtle or overwhelming—expectations about success, parenting, relationships, or simply “keeping it together.” Over time, those pressures can quietly erode mental health. When love feels conditional or boundaries aren’t respected, stress, anxiety, and even depression can follow.

It’s okay to acknowledge when family dynamics are affecting you. It’s okay to set boundaries. And it’s okay to seek support outside the family system.

Protecting your mental health isn’t a betrayal—it’s a step toward healthier relationships, including with yourself.
