"‘I am the resurrection and the life.’ — John 11:25
Easter is a glorious celebration of life eternal, yet we know that for those who have said a temporary goodbye to a loved one, the day can carry a quiet weight. Today, as we celebrate the empty tomb, we find comfort in the promise that we never walk alone.
To the families we serve: may the peace of the Lord be with you today, providing strength for the journey and hope for the reunion to come. Happy Easter from all of us at Tribute Funeral Homes. 🕊️"

The following list at least helps you start an important conversation with your loved ones.

This information is for those of you who don’t have your affairs in order. Make sure all bank accounts have direct beneficiaries. The beneficiary need only go to the bank with your death certificate and an ID of their own.

- TOD = Transfer On Death deed if you own a home. Completing this document and filing it with the court saves your heirs thousands. This document allows you to transfer ownership of your home to your designee. All they need to do is take their ID and your Death Certificate and they will then have the deed signed over. Doing this will avoid the home having to go through probate.

- Living Will: Allows one to put in writing exactly what you want done in the event you cannot speak for yourself when it comes to healthcare decisions.

- Durable Power of Attorney: Allows one to designate a person to make legal decisions if one is no longer competent to do so.

- Power of Attorney for Healthcare: This document allows one to designate someone to make healthcare decisions for their person.

- Last Will and Testament: Designates to whom personal belongings will go too.

- Funeral Planning Declaration: States one’s wishes as far as disposition of the body and the service/s.

- If the above documents are completed, you can AVOID probate. If all the above is not done, you have to open an estate account at the bank. All money that doesn’t have direct beneficiaries goes into this account. You have to have your executor to open the estate account. The executor also has to publicize your death in the newspaper or post publication at the courthouse, to allow anyone to make a claim on your property. - It’s a complete nuisance.

- Make a list of all banks and account numbers, all investment institutions with account numbers, lists of credit cards, utility accounts, etc. Leave clear instructions as to how and when these things are paid. Make sure heirs knows where life insurance policies are located.

- Make 100% sure SOMEONE knows your Apple ID, bank ID account logins and passwords!

- Make sure you have titles for all automobiles, campers, motorcycles etc

- MOST IMPORTANTLY!- Talk with those closest to you and make all your wishes KNOWN. Talk to those whom you’ve designated, as well as those close to you whom you did not designate. - Do this to explain why your decisions were made and to avoid any lingering questions or hurt feelings.

Hope this lights a spark to encourage all your friends and family to take care of these things and to make it easier for those we all leave behind. There is no template for these documents. these are quite simply, written documents, in your own words, and an exercise in just instructing your wishes to be carried out in detail in plain English.

It’s the little things that tell the biggest stories.

At Tribute Funeral Homes, we believe a farewell should be as unique as the person we are honoring. We strive to bring the essence of your loved one into the room, right down to their favorite treats.
Tonight, we celebrated a truly special soul. To know them was to know their go-to comfort: McDonald’s sweet tea. This is why you’ll often see our staff going the extra mile—whether it’s heading out to fill up a tray of those iconic McDonald’s cups or making sure we find that exact snack that meant so much. We don't do it because it's on a checklist; we do it because when family and friends gather, they shouldn’t just be sharing memories. They should be able to experience the simple comforts that their loved one enjoyed most.
It is our distinct honor to handle the details, so our families can focus on these final, sweet connections.

15 Years of Smiles and Community Spirit! 🐰🚲

What an incredible Saturday spent with our friends at the Greenville Care Center for their annual Easter Egg Hunt! We were deeply honored to continue our tradition of donating bicycles to some very excited winners.
This partnership has flourished for 15 years now, and watching this community event grow from its early days into the massive celebration it is today has been a true joy. There is nothing quite like seeing the neighborhood come together to create lasting memories for the kids.
Thank you, Greenville Care Center, for letting us be a part of your story for over a decade. Here’s to many more years of pedaling toward a brighter community! 🥂✨

Not Less: Celebrating Neurodiversity ♾️

Did you know that 1 in 36 children in the U.S. is diagnosed with autism? Behind every statistic is a person with a unique way of seeing, hearing, and experiencing the world.
Supporting the autistic community isn't just about "awareness"—it’s about acceptance and action. Whether it’s creating sensory-friendly spaces, practicing patience in communication, or simply listening to autistic voices, we all have a role in building a world where everyone belongs.
Let’s move past the labels and focus on the person. How are you showing up as an ally today? 👇

At Tribute Funeral Homes, we believe in the value and honor of every individual in our community. Throughout the month of April, we are proud to join the global effort for Autism Awareness & Acceptance Month.
To show our support and help spark conversation, we will be keeping our outside lights blue at our Greenville locations. As you drive by, let it serve as a reminder of the beautiful neurodiversity within our neighborhoods.
We are honored to "Light It Up Blue" for the families we serve and the community we love. 💙
