It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Michelle Figueroa.

Michelle was a beautiful soul whose warmth and radiant smile brought comfort and peace to everyone around her. She had a deep love for music and a wonderful sense of humor that brightened every day. Michelle enjoyed watching her favorite television network, Telemundo, and was always engaged with staff and friends—spreading laughter and kindness wherever she went.

Michelle received exceptional care from the dedicated Abilis staff at Sanford Lane, who worked tirelessly to provide her with the very best support. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the entire Sanford Lane team and our Day Hab staff for their devotion and compassion.

Michelle was truly loved, and her presence brought joy and light to our community. She will forever be remembered as the beloved Princess of Sanford Lane. 🩷

A celebration of Michelle’s life will be announced once plans are finalized. . .

🌟 Since 1999, Abilis’ Playshop has offered a safe and welcoming space in Stamford where babies and toddlers—especially those at risk of developmental delays—can learn, play, and grow alongside their families.

Our bilingual early literacy playgroup brings families together each week for story time, crafts, singing, and movement activities that help children build important developmental skills. Playshop also connects parents with community resources and creates a supportive environment for families who may not otherwise have access to preschool or enrichment programs.

We love this program! Running from October through June, Playshop is about learning, connection, and opportunity for children of all abilities and their families. 💛 . .
