APRIL IS AUTISM AWARENESS AND ACCEPTANCE MONTH 🧩
Please join two of our amazing Abilis parents and authors Eileen Flood O'Connor and Afton Fraser in conversation on Sunday, April 26, at 3:00 pm, at Perrot Library in Old Greenwich for a heartfelt conversation about children on the autism spectrum.

📚 Eileen will discuss Eating Pizza Backwards, and Other Adventures, a moving collection of essays about raising a daughter on the autism spectrum. Eileen shares with honesty and humor, how her daughter has reshaped her family’s perspective — from everyday moments to life’s biggest challenges.

📚 Afton Fraser is a former actress who has appeared in films and television and she is a realtor with Sotheby's International Realty. Her second book, Point to Happy, was a collaboration with her mother and sister for kids on the autism spectrum.

Today was a very special day where our Abilis LEAP community in Darien attended a Proclamation presented to Abilis by Darien First Selectman Jon Zagrodzky in honor of April being Autism Awareness and Acceptance Month. The presentation was made at The Mather Center where our LEAP program is in Darien.

The Town of Darien has been a wonderful partner to Abilis offering Project SEARCH at the Darien YMCA, Abilis run Cafés at Darien Library and the YMCA, LEAP, residential homes in the community and Competitive Employment partners.
