This weekend, we hosted a Junior League of Greenwich meeting and reflected on a partnership that continues to make an impact.

The Junior League created and grew The Den for Grieving Kids for seven years before it officially became part of Family Centers in 1993.

The Den was shared as an example of how a community-driven idea can grow into lasting impact.

Thank you to the Junior League for your longstanding partnership and continued commitment to our community.

We’re proud to share that Family Centers’ Andrea Payo, LCSW, Program Director, will serve as a panelist at the annual Maternal Mental Health presentation and training hosted by Tiny Miracles Foundation on April 29.

Andrea will share her expertise in supporting parent-child relationships, promoting caregiver well-being, and addressing the impact of stress and trauma on families.

This week, we’re celebrating the Week of the Young Child®.

Each April, The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) invites educators, families, and communities to come together to celebrate young children, early learning, and the adults who support them.

We’re joining in all week — from Music Monday and Tasty Tuesday to Work Together Wednesday and Artsy Thursday — and sharing a few moments along the way.

A small week with a big purpose.

Families from our Literacy Volunteers Family Literacy program spent Saturday morning giving back at Fairgate Farm in Stamford.

It was a beautiful day to be outside, learning together. With guidance from Farm Director Pete Novajosky, families helped prep the soil after winter and clear weeds—getting the farm ready for the growing season.

A great morning of learning, connection, and fresh air. 🌱

Congratulations! Hanna Kostiana, a Literacy Volunteers student, is one of five Student Learner Award recipients. Recognized by the Connecticut Assoc. for Adult & Continuing Education (CAACE), Hanna will receive a scholarship in recognition of her accomplishment.

Hanna completed her Child Development Associate (CDA) credential through our program and now works full-time as a behavior therapist with preschool-aged children. She continues in our advanced English class while also pursuing training in Applied Behavior Analysis.

Celebrating Hanna and all she’s accomplished. 🎉

Our Resident Service Coordinators (RSCs) show up every day for residents at Charter Oak Housing Communities—helping them navigate housing challenges and connect to jobs, education, and community resources.

RSCs also hosts events that bring neighbors together. At recent events at Park 215 and Greenfield Apartments in Stamford, families gathered to dance, get creative, and share a meal.

We’re grateful for this team and the impact they make every day. ❤️
