Thanks to the generosity of an anonymous donor, the holiday wishes of 75 children in Family Centers’ Early Care and Education program came true! 🎁✨ Each child received a bundle of gifts, and every one was thoughtfully selected and wrapped so they’re ready to be placed under the tree.

We are deeply grateful to Smart Kids Toys in Greenwich for organizing and wrapping each gift with such care. Children also received $100 gifts cards to Diane’s Books to help them grow their home libraries. 💙

💛 We’re thrilled to announce that Family Centers has received a grant from the New Canaan Community Foundation (NCCF) to support New Canaan adults navigating the “sandwich generation.”

Beginning next year, Family Centers will offer community-based support groups specifically geared towards adults managing the unique challenge of caring for aging parents while raising their own children. This grant directly responds to findings in NCCF’s 2024 Community Health & Well-Being Survey, which revealed that adults in the 30–59 age range—many of whom are managing careers, parenting, and caregiving— face significant struggles.

Many thanks to NCCF for always prioritizing the needs of the New Canaan community and providing the means to develop meaningful solutions. 🤝

✨ A Season of Light: Moments that Matter ✨
Our Literacy Volunteers Family Literacy class gathered at New Lebanon Elementary School for a joyful Winter Celebration on Tuesday night. Families enjoyed a festive potluck dinner and games, but the highlight of the evening was hearing students read their heartfelt Moments that Matter to the group.📖

Thank you to Daniel Russo, Lindsey Eisenstein, Greenwich Public Schools, and our amazing BANC partners for helping make this event—and our program—possible.

Cheers to a wonderful night of learning, connection, and community. 💫

Literacy Volunteers students recently gathered for a Workforce Readiness session to create their CTHires accounts. These online accounts provide access to the State of Connecticut’s workforce development and job search portal managed by the Department of Labor. A giant step toward employment for our adult education students!

Yesterday on World AIDS Day, we honored the progress made, remembered those we’ve lost, and celebrated the champions who continue the fight against HIV/AIDS. ❤️‍🩹

At our 3rd Annual World AIDS Luncheon, we proudly recognized Debra Katz whose decades of leadership and advocacy have shaped HIV/AIDS support across our community.

Please join us in celebrating Deb and all she has done for individuals and families affected by HIV/AIDS. 🙌
