Volume loss is actually substantially less than most realize. I have met patients that have over ten syringes in their face to replace “volume loss”. Sadly they are being ill informed and mistreated by focusing only on perceived volume loss with dermal fillers. Fat transfer and fat repositioning can bring about a more natural youthful appearance. Aging is also from skin laxity, and structural changes such as loss of bone and facial structure in the face. So to attempt to offset facial aging with only dermal fillers is the wrong approach and will bring about an altered appearance vs a restoration of ones appearance! Hyaluronic acids draw in water and are not compartmentalized like our facial fat naturally is in our youth. They cause that puffer fish or over done pillow face as a result. Nothing beats a needle and thread for natural results! Do you agree?

A lot of patients in my CT and Utah office tends to want very little done aesthetically. They prefer a natural look. However, many do not understand that especially when using Botox,or any of the neurotoxins (Dysporrt,Xeomin, Daxxify, and Jeuveau) the wrinkles untreated will really stand out even more because the other areas smoothen out and look great. So I teach patients this because otherwise they come back and start to focus on the untreated wrinkles and some start to think the botox on other areas caused this look. Nope…Botox smoothened all others so now those wrinkles untreated become a focal point! Out eyes are trained to see flaws!!

Batiatric Surgery vs glps…
Depends but many can try first on a glp. Especially if they have or are now at risk of diabetes, cardiovascular disease, strokes and inflammatory diseases..In medicine we are taught “ First do no harm”! How ever many fine and highly trained surgeons are seeing a drastic decrease in patients needing and or choosing Bariatric Surgery. I even had a fellow surgeon in that field call me to discuss how can they transition into cosmetic surgery…. It says a lot there. My advice is less is more. If glps fail and you cannot maintain a much needed weight loss in those with morbid obesity. Aka a BMI over 35 then of course, Bariatric surgery is a great option…but if you arr at that give the glps a chance because they too will be covered by your insurance and you get to keep your stomach functions as a whole. I’m a big fan of keeping essential body parts because there are a lot of complications not side effects also from Bariatric surgery vs a drug!!

When celebrities began publicly removing their breast implants in 2025, the conversation wasn’t just about aesthetics, it was about health, autonomy, and authenticity. That moment is now reshaping the aesthetics industry itself, pushing it away from artificial fillers and toward treatments rooted in the body’s natural biology.

We are in the middle of the breast renaissance; it goes beyond just removing implants. The concepts of breast preservation have resonated with patients more than anyone could have imagined. We will continue to see this changing paradigm of breast enhancement with less invasive techniques and more biologic options.

Lip filler really can look natural and restore lips as we age..not just when younger and wanting those pucker up lips!! But it’s a Process. Lips have a lot of blood supply so they swell a lot!! And the swelling gets worse on post injection day 1-3. Then it stabilizes and day 4-5 starts to decrease in swelling. Then within a week to 2 weeks all settles and patients love them!
We only did her upper lip as it was disappearing with age. She is 50. And very common for woman with genetically smaller lips 👄 to disappear with age. Her lower lip you also can notice the “ boggy look to her lower vermillion border.” She is a former smoker so her skin quality aged along the lower lip vermillion border and also from sun damage. I do see this in many patients over 48. This is NOT from filler. As we did not treat there. Boggy or loose lower lip vermillion border is primarily caused by chronic sun damage (actinic cheilitis), which leads to thinning skin, loss of collagen, and structural damage. Other causes include the natural aging process, smoking, and chronic inflammation. The border loses definition, appearing blurred, swollen, or wrinkled.
This patient today is in the tough day of the post injection filler day 1 of the journey saying “she hates it”. But she has done this before and loves it in the end. So what is it??
