The importance of leaving work at work and not bringing it home cannot be overstated, as doing so can have a detrimental effect on both career success and personal wellbeing. Volunteering can give you a sense of purpose, meaning, and satisfaction that is often hard to find in our day-to-day lives. Not only does helping others bring great rewards, it also gives you the opportunity to socialize with new people and develop additional skills. Starting a gratitude journal is a great way to cultivate appreciation for the things and people in your life. When starting a gratitude journal it is important to make it part of your daily routine. Spend at least 10 minutes each day reflecting on what you are grateful for by writing down five things that you are thankful for that day. It's important when starting out to focus on the process rather than results; trust that simply taking the time out each day will bring about incredible benefits regardless if you feel them yet or not!
