World Mental Health Day is celebrated every year on October 10. The goal of World Mental Health Day is to raise awareness of mental health issues and mobilize efforts to support mental health.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), about 14% of adults 60 and older have a mental disorder, and depression and anxiety are the most common conditions. In 2023, 6.17% of adults 65 and older were diagnosed with anxiety, and 6.11% were diagnosed with depression.

✨️Here are some helpful tips for caring for an elderly loved one✨️

1. Assess your loved ones home environment and be sure to remove any tripping hazards.
2. Empower your loved one to walk to increase mobility and circulation.
3. Eat a healthy, balanced diet.
4. Companionship is essential for your loved one, connection with others is good for our mental health and well-being.
5. Be sure to go to all your healthcare provider appointments and take medications as directed.

At Pace Healing Helpers we provide personalized service/care plans with a Holistic Approach to help improve quality of life in the clients we serve.
