There’s something special about growing together 🌱

To celebrate Arbor Day, our grounds team got things started by preparing the space, and our independent living residents brought it to life—planting a beautiful new orchard filled with pear, apple, and peach trees.

More than just planting trees, it was about connection, purpose, and creating something that will be enjoyed for years to come. 🌳🍎🍑

To celebrate Earth Day 🌎, we had local, small business owner, Katherine Lukas, come teach our Assisted Living residents about different kinds of herbs!

Following our lesson, we planted some herb seedlings with marigolds! The residents really enjoyed smelling all the plants Katherine brought in as well as planting their own! 🌱

Our HRC residents were invited to enjoy a Lander University Softball game at Doug Spears Stadium! 🥎

We are so proud that the Lander Bearcats brought home the victory for the first game of the double header! Thank you for inviting us for the amazing game!

Yesterday, we had the privilege of celebrating the incredible volunteers at Wesley Commons 💙

They represent the very best of community—residents across campus who give their time to the place they call home, future residents already looking for ways to contribute, and neighbors from across Greenwood County who simply want to make a difference 🤝

Each of them plays a meaningful role in the life of this community, and their impact is seen and deeply appreciated 🌿

The Health & Rehabilitation Center enjoyed the weekend with a special Spring Pet Show! 🐾Dogs, cats, and even a goat came to celebrate with residents. They showed off their tricks and gave lots of cuddles. 🐾
Congratulations to Emmi Jane and her human Kelli for winning Best in Show! Shoutout to Miss Greenwood Volunteer, Emma Williams, and Miss Lake Murray Volunteer, Sidney Tindall for judging the performances. 🐾

After the show, residents enjoyed a cool treat- snow cones from Calhoun’s Tropical Sno! Overall, we had a pawsitively purrfect day! 🐾

This group always attracts a large crowd when they come to perform for us!

Larry Freeland and Larry Roark are former members of the local beach music band, the Swingin’ Medallions! Peggy McHugh is a friend of the group with a strong, fabulous voice! And, Shawn McElrath is a current member of the band and his father, John McElrath, founded the band back in 1962!

The group comes to Assisted Living the first Tuesday of the month and performs a mix of classics and praise music that are sure to take everyone back in time!

Happy National Cheeseball Day! 🟠 Our HRC residents and staff celebrated with one of our favorite games- Cheeseheads! Shoutout to Greta and Ta’Shara for joining in the fun!

A sweet way to kick off the season 🌸🐣

Earlier this month, our residents enjoyed a festive afternoon filled with treats, laughter, and a classic showing of Easter Parade (1948)—a little nostalgia and a lot of time well spent together.

To celebrate April Fool’s Day, our Assisted Living residents celebrated all the silliness by taste testing the many different flavors of Peeps. 🐥

The crowd favorites were sour watermelon and strawberry pop tart!

The HRC had one of our favorite days of the month- Pet Visit Day! Betty Boop made a visit to love on all of the HRC residents today!

Each Sunday, Chaplain Hinson leads meaningful worship services that bring residents, families, and staff together in faith and reflection. With services held at our Health and Rehabilitation Center and a Vespers service in Asbury Hall, there are opportunities for everyone to gather in worship. Throughout the week, we also offer Bible studies and daily virtual devotions available on our in-house community TV channel.
