Last week, the Ware Shoals Day Program had a Christmas-filled week. Santa, Mrs. Claus, and their elves stopped by for a visit. One day, everyone wore blue or white Santa hats, and on another day, they wore Christmas sweaters and their favorite Christmas accessories.

Saluda Day Program started the Next Chapter Book Club in 2022 with 10 members. The book club members visited different libraries, read books, participated in story time with staff, and learned about authors and illustrators.

The club members decided they wanted to publish a book. Each member chose to write about their favorite farm animal. They put their thoughts and research on paper. Then drew their favorite animal.

In April 2024, Debra Gantt-Williams, Book Club leader, contacted Studentreasures Publishing, and the publishing process began. It took teamwork, tremendous effort, dedication, and 19 months to complete the publishing process.

On Monday, December 1, a book signing was held in the new mini library at the Saluda Center.

We congratulate the book club on publishing this wonderful book, "Down on the Farm".
