Serving people with disabilities and special needs in Ware Shoals, Abbeville, Edgefield, Greenwood, Lexington, McCormick, and Saluda counties. Services include: Day services for adults at four centers located in Greenwood, Lexington, Saluda and Ware Shoals, residential services (26 community residences, 3 supervised living programs, 4 community training home I’s), and Respite services.

🔹 As the Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional (QIDP), you will be fulfilling Burton Center’s mission in discovering and developing unlimited potential in adults with special needs and disabilities by creating person centered support plans for individuals. Your role is pivotal in training Direct Support Professional staff how to coach and support individuals to become as independent as possible and have the best quality of life! By contributing teamwork, positivity, and motivation, you will assist in enabling Burton Center to continue making a tangible impact for individuals we support! A bachelors degree in human services and one year of experience in a related field is required for this position.

The Soda City Theatre Company is hosting a Special Needs night for their performance of Peter Pan. If you were fortunate enough to attend last year, it really was spectacular. Many of the individuals attended from the surrounding communities and made it a night out on the town!

On Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the Lexington Operations chose to cover this poster with different, colored handprints and fingerprints. Each handprint represents a person. Each fingerprint represents a story that no one else can ever duplicate. Different colors, different sizes, different paths…yet here they are, side by side, creating something beautiful together. AKA Sorority visited Burton Center in recognition of Martin Luther King Day. They spoke to us about the importance of this day, shared information about Dr. King and the significance of his speech ‘I Have A Dream.” The theme was “Sharing Kindness.” They brought materials for the individuals to create thank you cards for all of the staff and then served cupcakes. Everyone then enjoyed dancing. Thank you, AKA Sorority!!
