HappiCare Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care

We are a pediatric health facility for children whose medical conditions require skilled nursing care.

Child’s insurance (Medicaid, magnolia, UHC, and private insurance) pays for services. Our PPEC center is planned around the needs of medically fragile children from birth to 19 years of age. Our fun, caring environment offers:
• Rehabilitative, nursing, social services, and daycare services, as well as comprehensive evaluation and treatment plans for childhood development
• A trained professional staff of registered and licensed practical nurses, medical technicians, nurse assistants and certified transporters
• Peace of mind knowing all HappiCare employees are cleared through a certified background check
• Staff members trained and certified in basic and pediatric advanced life support
• Transportation services within a 50-mile radius

We are capable of caring for children with various conditions such as:
• Congenital Disorders
• Genetic Anomalies
• Immune Deficiencies
• Cardiac Disease or Defects
• Chronic Lung Disease / Respiratory Disorders
• Colostomies - Post-Surgical Convalescence
• Feeding Disorders / Reflux
• Tracheostomy Care
• Oncological / Hematological Disorders
• Prematurity Complications
• Orthopedic Conditions
• Infectious Disease Processes
• Endocrine and Metabolic Disorders
• Post-Hospital Care

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Jimmy Sandifer. Jimmy was the founder and one of the owners of Happicare PPEC. In 2017, while visiting a PPEC center out of state, Jimmy felt a calling to open a PPEC center. He knew that the medically fragile children of the Delta needed a place to be a child while still receiving the medical care required. After collaborating with friends and family he began the adventure of Happicare.

Jimmy asked Kathy Whitehead who worked with him in his other businesses for 40 years to help him complete his dream of opening Happicare. Whenever he was asked why the facility was called Happicare, his reply was always the same “I want it to be a happy place for the children and staff.”

Jimmy poured his heart and soul into Happicare. He loved being able to watch the children progress and surpass the doctor’s expectations. He made it a point to tell anyone he met about Happicare. Although he probably would never admit it, I think that his love for Happicare even surpassed his love for Ole Miss.

Please keep Jimmy’s wife (Linda), children (Jimmy and Landi), grandchildren, friends and Happicare staff in your thoughts and prayers as we mourn a man who made such an impact on all of us and the community.
