Oaks Recovery

Oaks Recovery Where Recovery from Addiction Takes Root We are not a detox center, a medical or mental health facility, or clinical counseling center.

Oaks Recovery offers the support and solution through 12 step utilization and personal experience as a way to help themselves and others. The team provides support, coaching, and daily oversight to overcome substance use disorder and grow a life rooted in recovery. Our approach includes providing a safe, clean, sober-living environment with a structured program of 12-step recovery & accountability. We have separate physical locations for our men & women's programs. To learn more about our programs and locations, please visit our website www.oaksrecovery.org or call 864-538-4569

FEBRUARY AT ROOTED
✨ Community Member–Led Conversations ✨

This month, Rooted is turning the mic toward the heart of what makes this space what it is: the people.

Each week in February, a community member will lead our gathering—sharing lived experience, reflection, and the stories that have shaped their recovery and growth.

We’re kicking things off with Chris, an Oaks alumni and former staff member, now living in North Carolina and building a beautiful new chapter with his family.

Chris will be weaving together:
• his personal life experiences
• insights from the first three steps of a 12-step program
• and—yes—Frankenstein by Mary Shelley

(All in service of exploring how story, meaning, and narrative shape what’s possible in recovery.)

These meetings aren’t about having it all figured out.
They’re about honest reflection, shared humanity, and learning from one another.

Come as you are.
You belong here.

One year ago, we opened a room
and trusted that honesty would find its way in.

Tonight, we celebrate one year of Rooted —
not with a presentation or a lesson,
but by honoring the people who made it what it is.

This night is about your story.

What’s changed since you first walked in?
What have you learned to carry differently?
What does it mean to stay?

Just like recovery anniversaries, this isn’t about perfection.
It’s about showing up.
Being witnessed.
And letting your growth be seen.

Due to inclement weather, today’s Oaks Recovery Commencement has been canceled.
The safety of our residents, families, and staff always comes first.

We are so proud of each person we were meant to honor today. This moment still matters, and we will be celebrating our alumni soon.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

ROOTED TONIGHT | 7:30 PM

Tonight we’re keeping it simple.
A Rooted hangout + open conversation.

No topic.
No pressure.
Just space.

Whatever’s been sitting on your heart—this is the room for it.

Bring your honesty.
Your openness.
Your willingness to show up as you are.

This is a space where masks aren’t needed.
Where truth is welcome.
Where sharing becomes healing—for you and for others.

If you can, bring a friend.
Let’s keep growing this community in 2026 and creating a place where people are met with love and real connection.

We can’t wait to see you tonight 🤍

Here we go again! Another beautiful commencement ceremony as we celebrated two of our Alumni, each picking up ONE YEAR SOBER!

Congratulations to Kassaundra and Ronnie on this amazing milestone!

Every week, our alumni travel from all over the Country, just to give back to the very same place where it all began!

Thank you to both of these beautiful souls for showing up tonight and delivering powerful messages of what life can look like when you are willing to put in the work!

Rooted Community | Tonight at 7:30 PM

Every meaningful thing begins with a story.

Tonight at Rooted, Brian will be sharing the origin of Oaks—how it began, what stirred it into being, and the passion behind the purpose that continues to guide the work.

This isn’t a lecture or a presentation.
It’s a lived story of loss, hope, and the quiet decision to build something that could hold people when life felt unsteady.

If you’ve ever wondered why Oaks exists,
or felt connected to its heart without knowing the full story,
you’re welcome here.

Come as you are.
Listen, reflect, or simply sit in community.

With a heavy heart, we share that our beloved dog Moe Oaks was laid to rest Friday afternoon. A few weeks ago, Moe was diagnosed with cancer. It progressed quickly, and we made the hardest but most loving decision to ensure he was no longer in pain or suffering.

For nearly 11 years, Moe was so much more than a dog. He was our resident mascot, our constant companion, a source of comfort, and for many of us… a therapist with four legs. He greeted countless souls with unconditional love, sat through tears without judgment, and reminded us daily what presence, loyalty, and quiet strength look like.

Moe was family. He walked alongside so many journeys of healing and hope, and his absence will be deeply felt by us all.

We invite you to share any photos you have of Moe in the comments, along with one of your favorite memories or moments with him. Please be respectful as we honor a life that meant so much to so many.

Rest easy, our friend.
Thank you for everything. 🐾🤍

It’s Friday night, so you know what that means! Let’s celebrate!

Please help us show some love to THREE alumni who picked up annual chips tonight.

Congratulations to Missy on THREE YEARS SOBER, Josh on TWO YEARS SOBER and Woody on TWO YEARS SOBER!

Your commitment to personal growth and transformation is a beacon of hope for us all.
Thank you for reminding us that recovery is a journey that is well worth the ride!

Rooted Community | Tonight at 7:30 PM

Tonight we gather for our first Rooted Community meeting of 2026.

A new year doesn’t require a reinvention.
It invites presence. Honesty. Grounding.

This space exists so you don’t have to carry it all alone—
whether you’re stepping forward with clarity or arriving with questions.

Come as you are.
Nothing to prove.

Tonight | 7:30 PM
All are welcome.

Another wonderful commencement at Oaks Recovery, as we celebrated FOUR alumni picking up annual chips.

Congratulations to Hunter on ELEVEN YEARS SOBER, Shain and Paul on TWO YEARS SOBER, and Lisa on ONE YEAR SOBER!

Last night we celebrated four remarkable individuals who are courageously picked up their sobriety chips! Each chip symbolizes their incredible journey and commitment to positive change. Through determination, support, and resilience, they have chosen a path of healing and self-discovery. Their stories inspire us all—reminding us that despite the challenges faced, the strength to start anew lies within each of us. Here's to their triumphs and the bright futures that await them!
