Excited to see everyone at the ASF Walk this morning!
Hello Greenville SC Walk Participants! 💥💥 PLEASE READ! 💥💥
We are so glad to have you join us in just 9 days! The countdown is on!
As many of you probably know, this is Melissa and I's first year coordinating the ASF Walk, and the first ASF Walk in the Upstate! The folks at Lake Rabon Park have been a pleasure to work with thus far, and our volunteers this year (although limited in number) have been busy collecting donations, making local connections and raising awareness for our Angelman loved ones so we can look forward to a fun and successful day filled with lasting memories.
Bring extra money!
-Raffle tickets will be on sale next to registration - $5 a ticket or 5 for $20. I'll give you a clue to one of the prizes- soft, cuddly, and a full belly. 🐴
-SnoCones will be available after the walk. Free for AS individuals
We have a very special guest coming to our walk this year... Cooper the therapy dog! We are so excited to have him join us and share the love.
In addition to Cooper, there will be a few therapy organizations and Early Interventionist groups at the walk to serve you and your Angel.
The ASF puts on a walk each year across the nation to bring awareness & raise funds, and as equally important- create a feeling of solidarity & community around the families impacted by Angelman Syndrome. To uphold this value, I looked for companies & organizations that would like to join us by bringing fun, creative, adaptive and/or inclusive activities for individuals with AS to enjoy with their loved ones on the day of the walk. I asked that they do not sell, however, they will be handing out resources, flyers, business cards, and advertisements. They are there to serve the AS individuals & their loved ones.
Unfortunately we were unable to secure food and drink for our walk through donations so we have opted to invite a food truck or two to be at the walk to serve lunch. I will post an update once we have decided on who that will be.
Have connections in the food service industry? We are looking to do this again next year and would love to have more volunteers. 💙
Our walk location has been crushing through the fundraising milestones! We are currently at $9.9k raised to help the ASF do what they do best - support our Angelman families and FIND A CURE! If you don't stay up to date on all they have been doing, trust me, there is a reason we have such high hopes for a cure soon. Please share our walk page with everyone you know so we can exceed our goal!
T-shirts should start arriving very soon (if not already)! Don't forget to wear them to the walk!
Last minute items that could enhance our walk experience this year... please browse through our Amazon wish list if you'd like to help out!

Please don't be shy- talk with us! Any suggestions, businesses that you think would be interested in supporting our walk, anything. Especially if you want to volunteer. I'd love to grow our volunteer team and spread awareness to other SC counties and cities next year. Right now we are mostly able to tackle Greenwood and Grey Court.
See you all very soon! Keep on smiling!
