Yesterday, Jackson County released Phase 1 of the reopening process. It is now set to begin on May 11th instead of the initially planned May 15th. Beginning this coming week (week of May 11th), we are excited to get back on our regular scheduling routine and regular hours. We will continue to take all of the social distancing, screening, and PPE precautions that we have been using while seeing our urgent patients:
*Parking lot waiting room
*Screening questions
*Screening temperature
*Leaving doors open, weather/privacy permitting, to limit touch points
*Patient hand washing upon arrival
*No use of reception area seating
*Removal of high touch items like pens and toys
*Masks worn by doctor and staff
*Disinfecting equipment and hand washing between every patient

Please let us know if you have any questions! We are excited to see everyone soon and begin to get used to our new normal!

Hi everyone! As you are surely aware by now, Lee’s Summit is included in the regional Stay Home Mandate. As an essential business, Biggs Chiropractic & Acupuncture technically remains open. However, in order to adhere to the CDC and MDPH’s recommendations to cancel all non-urgent/maintenance/preventive appointments, we will only be seeing patients for Urgent/Emergency chiropractic issues at this time. The goal of this is to decrease everyone’s risk of transmission, but also to limit strain on other facilities such as Urgent Cares and ER’s as they provide the frontline response to COVID-19.

For our regular patients, *in general*, the following list of suggestions should help you maintain as well as possible in the meantime. If you have more specific questions on home care, definitely reach out to us, and Dr. Biggs would be happy to advise you more directly.
*Daily stretches
*Good hydration
*Daily light exercises, such as going for a walk
*Limit sweets
*Consistent bedtimes and 7-8 hours of sleep
*Deep breathing exercises to help with stress
*Foam roller or tennis ball trigger point therapy for tight or sore muscles

We will keep everyone posted and be checking in with our regular patients as time progresses through this situation. We look forward to getting back to our “regular” routine with you as soon as it is safe for everyone to do so. For now, please stay home as much as possible, be safe, be well, and absolutely reach out to us if you have any questions!

Hello! We are making some procedural changes to help protect all our patients amid the COVID-19 outbreak. Here’s a rundown of the precautions we are implementing at Biggs Chiropractic & Acupuncture:

-When you arrive for your appointment, please text or call the office line and STAY in your vehicle. As soon as it is your turn, we will text you to come on in. This will help us to follow the suggested Social Distancing guidelines.
-Upon entering, please head to the restroom for a fresh hand washing.
-We will be leaving as many doors open as we can (weather and privacy permitting), so patients can limit what they will need to touch while in the office.
-We will be disinfecting equipment between each patient and washing our hands diligently.
-If you are feeling unwell or have a known exposure to COVID-19, please contact us to reschedule your appointment.
-We will continue to monitor the recommendations of public health officials and update our patients with any further changes.
-We plan to text patients before their next visit to remind them of the new entry procedures. Our new Appointment Reminder text program *should* be up and running soon as well.

Thank you for bearing with us as we implement these precautions to protect all our patients. We would much rather overprotect you all than under protect!

On December 1st 2016, Emery was diagnosed with stage 4 high risk Neuroblastoma, which is a rare childhood cancer that has metastasized in 80 percent of patients at diagnosis including Emery. Emery was a normal, silly, happy and energetic two year old until she was first diagnosed with an infection.....

Everything is rolling right along at the Biggs' house! Dr. Biggs will be returning from maternity leave the first week of January. For the first two weeks, she will see patients during her regular Wednesday and Friday hours. Dr. Jordan will still be available for treatments during Dr. Biggs' Tuesday and Thursday hours those two weeks. Starting the third week of January, Dr. Biggs will resume her full normal schedule.
