Dear friends and family,
On Tuesday, October 29, Matt and I got news that shocked us to our core. Matt has been diagnosed with an extremely rare form of Leukemia. It is called Biphenotypic acute leukemia (BAL). It is a mixture of both types of acute leukemias, acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). Today he started treatment and we will be in the hospital 4-6 weeks. Our spirits are high because God is still in control. But I would be lying if I said we aren’t a little scared. But of course, Matt’s keeping all the nurses and doctors laughing. Matt attributes his peace to the beauty and love of King Jesus. He is grateful for all the love and support of our amazing friends, family, doctors, and he will continue to pray for those who are dealing with much more terrible things in their lives. Our prayer is that Matt will stay strong, stay positive, and fight this with all he’s got, and that I would have ears to listen and a mind to understand all that the nurses and doctors are telling us. We are so grateful that we are being taken care of so well and that he is getting just what he needs to fight this. Will you join us in praying for my husband and for our family? We love you all.
