Herd Meditations have returned, and this summer we are offering a meditation just for LGBTQIA+ community members! This group is open to any LGBTQIA+ community member who is 18 years or older.

Join us on August 3rd from 10:00 AM - 11:15 AM for some time to find rest and connection with other q***r folks.

This year we're operating on a Pay-What-You-Can Model from $0 - $35 to increase accessibility.

Whether or not you're able to get those chores done today does not define who you are as a human being! When there's a lot on our plates, it's hard to not get a bit caught up and overwhelmed with it all. The important thing is that we don't let these obligations tie into our self-worth.

Taking a day for ourselves, or even just a couple of hours, allows us to rejuvenate!

Mindful coloring is one of my favorite meditative activities.
All you need is a coloring book and some markers, pencils, or crayons!

Typically, it works best to color more abstract images to simplify the process for our brains and help release our assumptions about what color certain parts should be. The idea behind mindful coloring is quieting our inner dialogue and letting ourselves be—just noticing the things that may come to mind, and returning to the page.

This can be a great introduction to mindfulness and ways to de-stress!

It's so important to remember that we are all unique individuals with different experiences! The pieces of ourselves that we may have trouble appreciating now likely developed to keep us safe and comfortable in our bodies in the past. Even if these habits or qualities no longer serve us in our current lives, they were still an important part of the journey that brought us to who we are now. Accepting the function of our protective mechanisms can be such a healing experience!

We often have so much patience and love to offer the people around us but fall short when it comes to ourselves. It's important to recognize how wonderful we are, our strengths, and our ability to learn! Treating ourselves with love and respect helps us create even more emotional space for others.

Next time you feel overwhelmed or make a mistake, try practicing a bit of self-compassion with statements like:

- "I am doing the best that I can right now."
- "It's okay to not know all the answers. I'm learning!"
- "I'm human. I need to be patient with myself."
