🐴 Fun Horse Fact!

Did you know a horse can rotate their ears almost 180 degrees? That means they can listen in multiple directions at once and they’re constantly tuned in to what’s happening around them.

At Spirit Horse Ranch, we love this because horses are naturally aware, responsive, and sensitive, which makes them incredible partners in equine-assisted services. They often notice what we’re feeling before we even say a word. 💛

Exciting Training Update for Spirit Horse Ranch!

At the end of March, Kris and Lindsay traveled to Phoenix, Arizona to complete training for the Icarus Model Certification and we are so excited to bring this new approach back to Spirit Horse Ranch! 🐴

Spirit Horse Ranch is now the only facility that offers this unique approach in the area!

The Icarus Model is a trauma-informed, relationship-based approach that focuses on helping individuals build emotional awareness, self-regulation, confidence, and healing through connection. It emphasizes the power of safe relationships, intentional support, and personal growth, values that strongly align with everything we do at Spirit Horse Ranch.

This certification will allow us to strengthen our services by providing even more structured tools and strategies to support our clients as they work through challenges such as trauma, stress, anxiety, and emotional overwhelm.

We are proud of Kris and Lindsay for investing their time and energy into learning new ways to serve our community, and we can’t wait to see the positive impact this will have on the individuals and families who come through our ranch. 🌾✨

🦷🐴 Flint got his teeth floated this week!

Yes… horses need dental work too!

Teeth floating is basically a horse version of a dentist visit, where a professional smooths out sharp edges on their teeth that naturally form from all the chewing they do. Those sharp spots can cause pain, weight loss, or even attitude changes (because who wouldn’t be cranky with a sore mouth?).

Now Flint is feeling better, chewing easier, and ready to keep enjoying all his favorite snacks! 🌾
