Waking up this morning with heavy hearts as we think about our friends and neighbors being impacted by the ongoing fire activity. ā¤ļøš„
Here in Wyoming, we know how quickly conditions can changeāand this unusually dry, warm winter is setting us up for a potentially dangerous summer season. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone facing uncertainty, loss, and the challenges that come with it.
As smoke begins to affect air quality across our communities, itās important to take steps to protect your healthāespecially for children, older adults, and those with heart or lung conditions.
When the air is smoky:
⢠Stay indoors as much as possible and keep windows and doors closed
⢠Use air conditioning on recirculate, or consider a HEPA air purifier if you have one
⢠Avoid outdoor exercise or strenuous activity
⢠If you must be outside, consider wearing a well-fitted mask (N95 or similar)
⢠Keep rescue inhalers or medications close if you have asthma or respiratory conditions
⢠Watch for symptoms like coughing, shortness of breath, chest tightness, or headaches
And as alwaysācheck in on your neighbors. A quick call or visit can go a long way during times like this.
If youāre experiencing worsening symptoms or have concerns about your breathing, donāt hesitate to reach out to us. Weāre here to help keep our community safe and supported.
Stay safe, Wyoming. š¤
