Brightmoor Hospice is a proud partner of Second Wind Dreams featuring the Virtual Dementia Tour. This partnership allows us to provide inspiring moments and dream experiences for elders in the communities we serve.
Last week we were privileged to fulfill the dream of Mr. Peyton from the The Oaks by Windham. He always wanted to ride in a helicopter, and we were so excited to make it happen for him with the help of Fly Heli Atlanta!

Fun Friday 3/27/26: Our Community Outreach and Marketing Teams have been busy out and about in the communities we serve!

We had a great weekend at the The Joseph Sams School "Race for a Reason" and the "Dawg Dash" at University of Georgia Griffin Campus.

We loved sponsoring the "Dud Hits Like A Lady" hole at the Thomaston-Upson Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament and had a great time hosting the Virtual Dementia Tour for the latest recruiting class at Clayton County Fire & Emergency Services. We also held a Dementia inservice for the staff at Oaks at Eagles Landing.

We exercised with our friends at Governor's Glen Memory Care Community and had so much fun at the ribbon cutting for Bey & Associates. We always have a great time at the Fairburn Heights Skilled Nursing Birthday Bash and BINGO at Reliable Health and Rehab.

As always, it was a great week at Brightmoor!

Thankful Thursday 3/26/2026: Each Thursday we like to highlight a member of our staff that has gone above and beyond in some special way.

This week's submission comes from Chaplain Debbie Neely:

“Periodically through each year, Brightmoor Hospice hosts Memorial Services for our bereaved families. This special service provides a space for bereaved family members to come and remember their precious loved ones. They gather with members of other families facing similar circumstances of grief and loss. Most come in the doors hugging a photo of their loved one to have placed at the front of the worship center. Something about the shared expressions of grief and remembrance connects each one to one another and releases some of the anguish of losing their loved ones.

A day before the most recent Memorial Service earlier this month, I spoke with a friend of the bereaved family of one of our patients (calling to RSVP that they could not attend) who asked if there was any way to get her a ride to the Conyers First Methodist Church for the Memorial Service. Most times the friend would have been able to take her, but on this particular day she could not. Not knowing if anyone would be available, I put out a request to our teams and ask if anyone would be willing to pick this family member up in Newnan and drive her to Conyers. Hannah responded with a definite “yes” and made it happen. She drove many miles out of her way to pick this lady up and actually ended up bringing several other family members. She then drove through Sunday afternoon traffic to reach Conyers.

After the service, Hannah again provided rides back home to Newnan for this family before driving to her own home. We should all feel blessed that Hannah is our co-worker. I sure do!”
