The Hammond Center tenants were offered a variety of activities today. This morning, several tenants joined Callie for the Walk Challenge. With the cooler temperature, participants walked on the track in the exercise room. Throughout the day, the puzzle table was visited multiple times. Several tenants created a simple fall craft this morning, and a few tenants went out to West Side Family Restaurant. The food was delicious, and the service was superb. The photos on the wall created smiles and conversations about the locations of various stores from the past. This afternoon, several tenants enjoyed freshly baked chocolate chip cookies while challenging their minds with Iowa trivia.

The question around the Hammond Center today is…”where’s Waldo?”

Is he helping Santa prep for Christmas?

Is he getting a tan on the beach?

Is he lighting off firecrackers to show his patriotic spirit?

Is he blending in at the Halloween bash?

We can’t spot him, can YOU find the real Waldo???

We had way too much fun dressing up in a “Where’s Waldo?” theme for today’s Halloween party! At our party we enjoyed jack-o-lantern floats, Halloween cupcakes, and candy-corn-style fruit parfaits, as well as a comical game of “Guess Who?”

This morning we were hard at work putting together treats for the students who will come show us their fun costumes and sing for us!

Don’t forget to stop by the Hammond Center to “Trick-or-Treat” tomorrow night from 5-6pm.

We spent this afternoon sipping on jack-o-lantern floats and playing dominoes. 🎃 Our residents are eagerly awaiting trick-or-treat on Friday night! Make sure to stop out from 5-6 PM, our residents will be passing out candy! 🍬🍭🍫

History of St. Francis Manor

Ever wonder our history? Why are we named St. Francis Manor. Many of a certain age can remember where we come from - a hospital called St. Francis which used to sit on this location. In memorandum of that hospital we decided to take on the name again and now with the completion of the Hammond Center for Assisted Living, we will become a Life Plan Community and provide the finest assisted living that Grinnell has to offer! https://www.stfrancismanor.com/living-options/assisted-living/
