As we celebrate Physical Therapy month, get to know one of our own Physical Therapist, Stacey Alberts, PT, MPT!

Stacey was drawn to physical therapy when she was younger. Her grandfather was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease when she was in middle school. She always felt helpless watching her family struggle with the physical changes he was experiencing. Eventually, she found Physical Therapy was a way she could work with people with all sorts of injuries or disease to just help them live their best life. She completed her undergraduate education at Central College in 1997, where she also played softball and worked as an athletic trainer. Her professional education was completed at the University of Iowa in 2001. She is a Board Certified as an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist. She is also certified as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist. At Total Rehab, Stacey is most passionate about taking very difficult cases and breaking them down into manageable pieces. She loves to teach people about how to take care of themselves, and being a partner in that path. She thinks the healthcare system can be fractured and difficult for many to understand their diagnosis, and she wants to play a part in making that process more clear. Ultimately, Stacey wants to see every individual live their best life whatever that definition is for them. Outside of seeing patients, Stacey enjoys being the high school softball or baseball coach for Lynnville- Sully which she has been doing for the past 20 years. She is married to Scott, and they are raising 2 wonderfully active boys. When she gets the chance, road biking and skiing in Colorado are two of her favorite things to do.

Stacey’s Primary Clinic is Grinnell.

As we celebrate Physical Therapy month, get to know one of our own Physical Therapist, Lindsey , PT, DPT!
Lindsey was drawn to physical therapy at a young age. She was involved in a lot of sports growing up and had been lucky in the fact that she did not get injured to the point of needing therapy. Her mom was not as lucky and tore her ACL downhill skiing and needed therapy following surgery. She had interests in the medical field, anatomy and how the body worked, along with working with patients, but never knew which area she was specifically interested in. Her mom’s injury and recovery gave her some insight into the field of physical therapy. Lindsey received her bachelor's degree at the University of Northern Iowa in 2005 and received her Doctor of Physical Therapy at Creighton University in 2008. She has a certification in Graston, dry needling, and LSVT BIG. At Total Rehab, she enjoys working and interacting with patients, finding out what problems they have and what their goals are so that she can help them meet those goals and return to their prior level of function. Everyone has something that their injury prevents them from doing and through therapy our goal is to help them return to activities that they enjoy. She wants patients to have a good experience, return to their prior level of function, and learn what they need to know to help themselves and prevent further injuries. Lindsey enjoys working with clients who have orthopedic injuries, total hip and knee replacements, BPPV/dizziness, headaches, TMJ, falls/instability, deconditioning/weakness, Parkinson's, and geriatric population. She has a personal sports history of dance, figure skating, gymnastics, swimming, diving, and tennis. When she is not working, Lindsey enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, skiing (downhill and cross country), snowboarding, snowshoeing, swimming, tennis, bicycling, and golf.
Lindsey's primary location is Grinnell.

As we celebrate Physical Therapy month, get to know one of our own Physical Therapist, Melony Ge**er, PT, DPT!

Melony was drawn to physical therapy when she was in high school. Growing up she had two major career fields she considered- teaching and healthcare. It wasn’t until she had an injury of her own in high school that she realized physical therapy was the perfect combination of both. She loves the opportunity to teach people about the body and how it moves and how to take care of it to keep it moving! She received her bachelor's degree at Central College in 2013 and her Doctorate of Physical Therapy at the University of Iowa in 2015. Melony has taken extensive coursework in treating women’s health and pelvic floor dysfunction. She has the privilege of improving the quality of life for men and women dealing with pelvic pain, incontinence, diastasis recti, and more. At Total Rehab, she looks forward to the opportunity to give everyone a positive healthcare experience. She loves hearing people’s “why” story - why they are coming to therapy in the first place - and then partnering with them to make that happen. She is passionate about giving people HOPE and faith in themselves to push to the next level. She also enjoys treating pediatric patients, vestibular conditions and running injuries. Outside of seeing patients, Melony enjoys running, along with watching sports (Go Cyclones!), and spending time with her husband Jared and two sons, Oliver and Caleb.

Melony's primary location is Grinnell.
