Macy joined Lakin in January as one of our High School Staff Members, and we are so thankful to have her!

Macy is a junior at Griswold High School. She loves spending time with her family and friends, showing lambs, and being out in the barn. Her strong work ethic and caring heart shine through in everything she does!

🌟 ROOM SPOTLIGHT: YOUNGSTERS (Ages 3–4) 🌟

Our Youngsters Room is a place where curiosity grows, independence builds, and learning comes to life every single day! 💫
We’re excited to share a staffing update that strengthens this classroom even more. Miss Caroline, who has been our incredible School-Age Lead, is stepping into the role of Youngsters Lead Teacher. Her experience, leadership, and consistency make her a perfect fit to guide our 3–4-year-olds during this important stage of development.
And don’t worry — Miss Sabrina is still with us and continues to be a valued part of the Youngsters classroom as an Assistant Teacher, providing familiar support and continuity for the children. 💕

🌟 Staff Spotlight: Meet Miley! 🌟

We’re excited to shine the spotlight on Miley, one of our amazing High School Staff members here at Lakin! 💙
Miley joined our team in November and has been a wonderful addition ever since.

Miley is a senior at Griswold High School and a proud Griswold local. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her friends, family, and boyfriend. She also loves cleaning, reading, tanning, and being around animals 🐾.

One of Miley’s favorite parts of working with children is watching them develop new skills and building meaningful connections with them — something we see her do daily with patience and care.

Welcome to our Explorers Room, where curiosity, confidence, and BIG growth happen every single day! 💫
Our two-year-olds are busy learning, exploring, and gaining independence in a structured, nurturing environment designed just for them.

Our Explorers follow planned, age-appropriate lesson plans that support early learning through:

Hands-on activities

Art & sensory experiences

Music, movement, and language development

Early social-emotional skills

Every activity is intentionally planned to support development while keeping learning fun and engaging!

Our structured daily schedule helps two-year-olds feel safe, confident, and ready to learn. Each day includes:

Morning routines & group time

Learning centers & guided activities

Active play and movement

Outdoor or gross motor time

Lunch, rest, and afternoon exploration

Snack and end-of-day winding down

This balance of structure and play supports independence, routine-building, and confidence throughout the day.
