Thanksgiving is often seen as a day of indulgence, but it can also be a celebration of fresh, wholesome foods that nourish the body and bring people together. Many of the ingredients in a traditional Thanksgiving meal offer real nutritional value, especially when they’re sourced locally and prepared with care. This November, we’ll be highlighting seasonal ingredients commonly found on Thanksgiving tables - like turkey, greens, pecans, and cranberries - and exploring their health benefits, how they’re grown in Texas, and ways to prepare them safely. Thanksgiving can be both delicious and nutritious. It’s also a time to pause and appreciate the people behind our meals including the Texas farmers and ranchers who work year-round to feed our communities. Follow along this month for seasonal tips, recipes, and resources to help you enjoy a healthier holiday season!
